It doesn't really matter. Just do a little at a time so you don't stress it too much. This is my general rule of thumb. I go from the top of the plant down about 2.5' and anything below that I strip. This is basically how far my HPSs will penetrate into the canopy and produce buds worth trimming. If using CFls or your plant is shorter than 2.5' You will have to do some experimentation. I grew my plants normally one run and each variety I took a tape measure and from the top of the plant down I determined where the 'shit' bud point was and trimmed appropriatly. The bushier plants seem to like more lollipoping that the not so bushy. youtube lollipopping if you are still confused. I did notice that my overall output not only went up but it was much easier trimming at the end.

I will start trimming after a week in bud and then finish by 2-3 weeks. You never know when one of them small branches will shoot up.

That's why I said do some of your own research on it. Youtube/google lollipoping for yourself.
You should question everyone's experience but don't mistake number of posts/rep for inexperience/experience. Most of my time is spent in the garden, not posting here.
Here is a pic I made rationalizing canopy management.

But I fully recommend you research it yourself and form your own opinion.
As short as your plant is I wouldn't trim much at all after looking at your pics again.

Ok so ive , trimmed all the foliage that was yellow and that was close (within 1/2") to the soil , fed with half strength nutes , ph was 6.8 and the runoff 6.1.

Does that sound ok and what should i look out for now to see if the problems solved ? just more yellowing of lower leaves?

sounds perfect ..

and yea lolipoping or pruning is important indoors .. specially with small CLFs .. tho you have enough .. just keep em really close .. 2-4 inch`s from the buds ..

and yes don't just take anybody's word for it .. do your own research ..

one thing I learned in here (and on other boards) is that a lot of Ppl. like to give advice .. not all schould tho .. and even the best can make a mistake .. also .. its not the same for everybody .. conditions can be different .. just a small miss out in the info can make even the best give wrong advice ..

so yea .. ask and listen .. find out what most Ppl. think/seems most logical .. and then try to do some research on it/google it .. then based on all that and your own common sense make a decision ..

and only real way to learn is by doing it .. after a few grows you will have 90% control over it .. rest is small stuff and your own taste ..

afterall it is only weed .. try not to make it to complicated .. think "plant logic"
not like some nubs that sumtimes post in here .. who some how thinks its magic and the more magic stuff you add the more smoke will come out in the other end ..

about PH .. not so important in a good soil if PH is 6 or 7 or where ever in between .. soil`s micro life should correct it .. tho I allways try to make it a even 6,5

when should i trim , plant is in darkness now?

do it when lights on .. unless you have a green light/dark light ..

don't want to give a flowering plant ANY light doing dark hours in flowering ..

hope its light tight .. also make sure no fans or thermo/hydrometers have any LEDs .. can ruin a crop .. in worst case they can Hermi ..

Thanks for all your advice slipon , appreciated :)

Plant looking healthy still although the tips have have drooped slightly , nothing major just slightly since watering with them half nutes. Its now been flipped 12/12 6 days but looks like its still growing new growth is this normal and does it continue to stretch throughout flowering or just for the first couple of weeks?

Slipon , if your about ? Its now almost 2 weeks since switching to 12/12 and i noticed a 2" stretch today lights on so i think its starting to stretch. Before i fed this morning a couple of fan leaves were almost touching the soil , the pot was light so i fed , now the leaves picked up and were almost an inch from the soil but now 8 or so hours on they have drooped back down again , not as bad as b4 but almost touching soil. Could i trim these leaves also ? The plant is quite bushy but i dont want to stress it in flower ,..?
