Lighting question.

Is 13w enough for two 3 day old weed plants? The strain I don't know it cause it's my first time and I got the seeds from some decent mids I had and I got one sour diesel seed that I got in ah 1/4 so I wanna learn from these so I wont mess up the sour d .

You talking CFL's right? it'll be ok for seedlings but you'll need more light as time goes on. What's the kelvin? should be around 6500K.

I stole this, I'm sure its around here somewhere. I would that light to a 5-6500K. More blue and less red. Blue=good for babies and veg right?

The 2700Ks work just fine. I have a bathtub full of DWC units with autos flying skyward on 3 of them. 6500K is best but very few can be found at retail stores. But you need more than 13 watts and you need it now. 23-watts minimum per plant once they have been up about a week or suffer the consequences.

Nice chart. Thanks. Try finding anything other than 2700K in 99% of stores. 2700K will get them up and keep them up in you have to. Maybe not optimal but I have living and dead proof they work. Smokes really good, too.

I hear you. I am sure they do and I certainly do not debate it, I have been down that road. It took me a long time to source the "blue" bulbs inexpensively, but a search found the ones I like, I go to the nursery store here, I think they are actually 5500K but who's counting? ME.. I do however like the 2700K ALOT that I scored at the big box store. They were hidden in the outdoor lighting fixture area. I do like them for the cost. I bet the four I put in for additional lighting give me at least a 20 percent increase in yield. Though it is hard to say, I have made more than one change to my system since adding them..BUT the buds under them are definately happier.

It's hard to answer this question with anything but, "that's not enough light". There is no doubt in my experience that this plant will want more light regardless of the spectrum supplied. So I agree with you Hotrod.

We could go to 50 different grows and find 50 different methods. My advice to anyone taking on this hobby..and take it lightly because I am no means an expert..Is this, read, study, read, and study some more. Find the best way to adapt your grow. Follow proven basic "guide lines" the plant needs five things, growing media, light, water, food, and love. You are in charge of all of it when inside. Do your best, learn from your mistakes. If your one seed doesn't make it..get another one..or ten. Good Luck.

I just use the lights for night time to expand their "daytime" cause I move it around during the day to get direct sunlight
