Got another problem while I was trimming a lot of bugs came out also when I dried the buds and trim it more a lot of bugs starts to come out. Now I have it sealed up in a food saver bags and I was wondering if I put my buds in a freezer in sealed bags with dry ice will it get cold enough to kill the bugs? Will my buds get frozen if I put it in the freezer?

Mites and some other kind of bugs got bit all over. We trimmed and hang dry and still there's bugs small white yellowish some blacks but I already have it sealed with bugs in them and a friend said dry ice will make it so cold that the bugs will freeze to death and the bud won't freeze up so I'm just asking if it will work. This is legal outdoor grow so can't escape from mites if they come. The plants were sprayed with azatrol every 3 to 5 days apart and still but they still won't die

While the dry ice will make it very cold, the CO2 that it puts off is what will likely kill your bugs imo. Also, if you seal the bag with dry ice in it, i believe it will eventually pop or pop open from CO2 buildup.

No I don't want to put dry ice inside the sealed bags with buds. I want to put dry ice in a freezer or ice chest and then put my sealed buds in there so it'll be cold enough to kill them bugs. Is this possible and will it damage my buds? Will the buds be frozen if I throw it in the freezer with out dry ice? I just want them damn bugs dead.

A prolonged exposure to low temps and a lack of oxygen will kill most bugs. idk how the dry ice in the cooler will work but if you put it in your freezer i have been told numerous times by numerous appliance guys that you will fuck up your freezer (in larger amounts). If you could find a way to suspend the dry ice over your UN-bagged buds (to expose the little fuckers to all the CO2), i would say you're golden. i WOULD NOT let the dry ice contact the buds or the bags.

i'm thinking like a wire rack (oven, bbq) that fits halfway into an icechest would support the dry ice in a small pot just fine.

That being said, if you mess with your bud while it's frozen, you will knock off a LOT of trichs when dealing with dry ice temps.

And again, i think your effectiveness from dry iceing them will come from the CO2 moreso than the cold temps. Bugs are survivors, but they need to breathe.

You should always soak treat your soil with something like Azamax first. I always use Azamax first. I learned the hard way. It's safe to assume all and any soil have larva in it. I've seen red ants and cut-worms in FFOF, among other things.

It's great soil but it's pest ridden.

Best to take matters into your own hands.

An ounce of prevention is worth 456 grams of cure imo.

No kidding; when it costs you money then you really start to think about just preventing it to start with.
For me, money has little to do with it. i'm OCD and i like good smoke. Yeah, i feel like i wasted electric and time, but i'm my most prolific end-user so it's a VERY personal thing to me.

Just don't know what to do. You think them bugs will die in sealed saver bags? It's vacuum pretty tight. Got bitten all over my arm and body.

Yeah, I couldn't smoke anything with bugs or what not in it. I'm the same way. Another reason.. lol

I meant I've had cut-worms kill a crop in one night. :-/

As far as the original posters question; I'm not sure if CO2 will kill them honestly. I've seen people fill grow rooms up to try and snuff bugs out and I've seen it fail. Honestly, how far are you into the grow? If it were me, I'd destroy and restart correctly but you mentioned you were growing outside.

If you want my best advice; move it inside. The best is grown indoors IMO. It can be micro controlled whereas outside can't.

I have no where to grow indoor and also I can't afford to pay them high electric bills

Eeew, just think after they are all dead your gonna end up smoking them. See if you can ID them so you know what your dealing with. If they're flying pests, you can spray ice cold water or use smoke to flush them out. Aphids can be knocked off with ice cold water too. Just set the hose to jet spray and blast them. However, once the bud is curing, I'd let them sit on racks and hope the pests leave on their own. Might even try soaking a cotton ball in a pyrethrin solution and placing it on the rack next to the buds.

It's all dried up if I blast with water hose the buds gonna fall apart because this strain is really fluffy not sure why. I don't mind smoking dead bugs, I mean what can it do to you if they're dead?

IDK, bugs can carry some nasty germs. Dry ice and vacuum sealing might kill the pests, but it doesn't sterilize the weed. Personally I'd throw it away and call it a loss, but I totally get why you'd want to try and save your harvest. Who wouldn't, right?

I know that tobacco companies will roast the tobacco leaves in an oven even though it ruins the flavor and potency. They'll often 'fix it' by using special flavorings or they'll blend it with another type of tobacco.

You get a lot of misinformation from cannabis growers because of the whole being illegal thing. Where as tobacco has been researched to death. Almost all the methods used by tobacco growers work with cannabis. So if you don't find the answers here, check out a few tobacco growing forums. I've read of some small scale tobacco growers who use a light bulb and a box as an oven. I forget the exact temperature they aim for but it's not really high. 100*F to 160*F if my memory serves me right.

sounds like thripes if there biting you. Look up thripes and if that's what you have then look up effective ways to kill them.
