its a map system they created, shows you dispensaries, hydro shops, doctors, in your area or close to you , you can rate, comment on shops youve been too, its all over the world with information of the shops, phone numbers ect,

There is no need to research anything. I meant how does Google feel about RIU infringing on their map technology. Since as you said all of those businesses can be found on google so what does RIU Maps offer that is different from what Google has been offering?

How do yo know that RIU doesn't have rights to use their map technology, LOADS of websites and companies use it in one form or other for their own sites.

riu maps offers it to be a one stop shop kinda deal rather then searching on google, its all there, and then some, with the business ratings , comments, instead of
searching for a doctor, then ahydro shop then a dispensary you can just see it in all one place basically,
I dont believe theres any issue with the map system , lots of sites use maps like these for different things, real estate websites sometimes use them, and other websites as well,
 
I didn't say they don't have it, that is why this is thread of discovery. Perhaps Rolli will bless my thread with his presence and enlighten us on what benefit I will receive by using Rolli maps instead of Google.

anyone is allowed t develop around google's map API.

Google maps has an open API for anybody with the skills to develop and expand on their maps.. Google actually encourages this.
 
Why should rollitup tell you why you should use something? Someone feeling something offers them a benefit over something else, that is their opinion on the matter. If you don't feel like it benefits you, then don't use it. I don't really understand why you are trying to make a debate out of it. It's a map servive showing dispensary locations, you can use it, or you don't have to use it. What's the issue?

Ok good, I am a vessel of peace and I cannot allow any negativity to affect me on my quest for knowledge. So I had to make sure.

That's a good answer, I'm beginning to understand the purpose of this. I would just expect with the header and little advertisement I've seen on the side there would be some type of formal announcement for its intended purpose. I'm apprehensive to click the link for it, I will wait until we have dug a little deeper into this matter before taking any action.

This is a point I did not know. This is the point of this thread, to discover information that may have been lost, forgotten, or not shared.

Thank you both for your input, but more information is needed to fully understand this application.

Wow dude, smoke one and chill. I didn't say he should tell me to use it, I wanted to know the benefit of using it compared to using google. But now thanks to people who understand the true nature of the thread, I know that Google allows you to use it's technology to personalize for a more specific purpose or function. Rolli gets benefits from me using it, so I want to know what benefits I get from using it. It's not a debate, it's a thread of knowledge, discovery, and peace. There is no issue, just uncovering the truth.

If you're going to be a hatemonger, take it to your Gamers thread.
 
Jeez, what's the big deal? It's a feature handy for those who want to check out shops in their area. Use it, use google, whatever. Try it and decide if it benefits you or not
 
Jeez is right, I cannot believe how enraged people become at a simple fact finding mission. But some of history's most prominent explorers and discoverers were challenged by skepticism, cynicism, intimidation, and outright hate before they were accredited for advances they brought to society. So I expect the same, and greet it with a smile.

if you scroll down below the map, you can choose from a variety of countries. the uk has several hits on the map. at the top you can switch between dispensaries or hydro shops.

what i can't figure out is how to add a store that's not there. i went ahead and reviewed a nearby hydro shop but the other shop i frequent isn't even on the map and obviously this would be the most helpful if all locations were listed and reviewed.

this could be very handy indeed. i can't find where to access it except for the ad banner, though.
