Everyone seems to be harvesting early. Weather or?

Im taking down early, all starting to amber. All hard.
Although the nodes do not all connect, however all tops are "Done"
Ambered all the way down to the center.

Although I would have liked to see the nodes interconnect,

"Old Betsey" I grew most all early girls.

I do not want to get stuck in the rain like the previous year.

I had to harvest about 3-4 weeks ago. Bud rot got to them from rain and humidity. They were only going to stay out for a few more weeks anyways but the bud was still good. I am glad I caught the rot when it started so I saved more buds than losing.

What made you decide to harvest prematurely versus trying to control the bud rot issue with a fungicide?

At least in most parts of Cali, the weather has been very good so far, but I'm noticing most people have already harvested or are in the process. Usually it's mid October or later.

Are plants ripening faster because of the weather, or are folks just jumping the gun? Most plants didn't start flowering til sometime in August, so it hasn't even been sixty days yet

I'm guessing I have another week and half to two on my Indica, and sometime beginning of November for Sativa (If I'm lucky).

I know mine have a good week before I should even consider harvesting them, but the weather here in Canada is going to be damn nippy in the next couple of days, Manitoba even has winter storm warning for this weekend. So I might, just might have to cut them

We have cut down almost all of our plants so far. Maybe 5 still up. It got very very hot this year and I think it caused my plants to finish early. I didn't want too much of a couchlock so When everything started going amber I pulled.

I also harvested five plants (1 Mastodon kush, 1 White Widow, 1 Blue Widow and 2 Larry OG kush). Never harvested so early before but all had many cloudy trichoms and just started to amber. Still to go Martian mean green, Original Amnesia and Power kush.

I just harvested my first plant tonight . Indica strain with super dense buds. Lost a lot to bud rot due to the heavy bay fog. But I'm not mad at all cuz I stil harvested more than I did last year off this single plant ..

Still got two out that won't be ready for another 2 weeks at least

hi im in western washington, about 25 miles so of seattle.the days have been low to high 60's. dry. nights down to like 46. last year, it was rainy by mid oct, and i had the start of rot, on my one jack herer. looks to be dryer this year, and id like to take em to the end of oct. even longer. i dont think we have bud worms over here. i saw a not so rare anymore praying mantis yesterday. i put him on the biggest of my two plants, 6'. and he did not stay, or i could not see him. but i feel sorry for the peeps that have to fight those catapillars. thats what they are, huh? they come in like white moths, do they? lay eggs, and now the pillars? go get some praying mantis egg cases. they will have a wonderfull time. and you can catch their brutallity on video, and share it with all of us on utube! they are freindly bugs to us. how cool to go out to work on the plants, and have several of these patroling for goodies....lol.

I wonder if revegging had something to do with it

You have bud worms in Washington. Any moth not just the white ones. The brown moths at night are the real killers. That being said I have had years with no worms and some with mega worms.

I read this thread and three people said they have nevr harvested this early. Anyone else harvest this early for the first time? If so what area?

Same situation with my friend. She put hers out early May, they started flowering end of May, then revegged late June. So that may have affected the fall flowering time. What the first bit of flowering did is make lots of thick leaf growth

Fresno area..."Others, because of rippers/stress/security".. It's been a war zone around here.... the helicopters fly over my house daily on their flights to chop down the fields growing outside the city limits... a 11,000 plant grow busted yesterday under a Federal Warrant.

Back yard LST grow here (2nd grow)...No Med Card... been blazing all summer, many days of excess of 100 degree heat (50+ days)... my girls started flowering late July/early August... started with 15 plants (bag seed) ended with 7 beautiful ladies. The buds looked great , cloudy & amber Trichs and smelled awesome... been "covering" the bud smell with those nasty smelling "fly Traps" ... just add water.... and the flies go into the bag... covered most of the smell but the last week or so has been "obvious".... wife started getting pretty nervous (she understands but doesnt partake).... so I have been harvesting the girls starting this week.... 6 of the 7 are either hanging or started curing in glass jars... I am limited to a one at a time approach...

I had 4 plants last year and so far this year with the LST grow.... my harvest is looking great, no comparison to last year... way up.... having minimal budworm damage, although the little bastards did show up!!

I'm in western NYS and my plants started flowering about mid August as usual but they ripened a lot more quickly this year. I've been harvesting for about 2 weeks with more to come. Great season.

I harvested one of mine early because I didn't want that many amber crystals. And, it was a treveg (reveged twice), so it was time to take her down. It was maybe 5-7 days premature, but it's still dankage!!

Here's one reason to harvest early, if you're in a high risk area b/c all the native plants are dying that were providing cover:

Greetings from cold, rainy-ass Northern Europe! My greenhouse plants got moved inside under a 400watt HPS after I noticed some mold. According to the source of those seeds, the strain is not mold resistant at all, so that explains it... They look like they need 3-4 weeks before they are done. As for my guerilla grow, that needs at LEAST another month! Checked on them today, not a trace of mold anywhere! Buds aren't that big yet though...some are pretty resinous...
Last year I harvested a guerilla grow plant in the last week of October, and could have even let it go on another week or two...But yeah, weather is very variable here, so I can't plan anything more than 4-5 days in advance...
