Should you vote for Romney to prevent Obama Supreme Court justices?

This is from Reason magazine, a libertarian bullwork, and is meant to appeal to libertarian voters but the questions seem legit for voters in general. Since I see RIU progressives lament the fact that Romney will probably get to nominate a couple of Supremes if he wins, I thought it was time to offer an opposing view point.

Personally, I am voting for Gary Johnson, but an Obama win is scary none the less.

*There are four justices on the Supreme Court ready to hold that the First Amendment does not bar Congress from regulating political speech against incumbents.
*There are four justices on the Supreme Court ready to hold that the Second Amendment does not create any individual rights against the government.
*There are four justices on the Supreme Court ready to hold that the Commerce Clause creates no constraint on Congress's regulatory powers.
*There are likely at least four justices on the Supreme Court ready to hold that the government can choose to discriminate on the basis of race if "diversity" is at issue.

I personally fear a Supreme Court stacked with Romney appointees more than I do Obama appointees. Social Conservatives are far too hellbent on controlling people's personal liberties.

Yeah, you make a very good point. That's why I am voting for Gary Johnson. Unfortunately, either Obama or Romney is actually going to win.

Either way our supreme court is fucked. Once they voted to allow unlimited corporate contributions and ghost contributions, I knew it was over.

anyone who would vote for anyone for ANY one reason, should not vote. i take into consideration, the good of the nation as a whole, over any selfish reason i may have. in actuallity, i vote mostly conservative, and i will allways smoke my meds if i want. i dont need anyones permission! -let alone a presidents. my choice??? pot will not only remain illegal, but be illegal like before mmj!! why, u ask??? then my smoke will be worth more again, and about 90% less competition. no., really. look at the problems booze has caused our society. and its legal. adding one more. wont help our social stability. getting a new president will............pot is an issue. but not one i would ever consider when voting for someone who is supposed to be responsible enough to make hundreds of other, more important decisons. now. bong hit time. my house. my rules. my new ar-15. nuff said.

he has appointed, have shown nothing that is good for this country. all wanting to drop security, ignore the obvious, destroy our soverentiy. my spelling sucks. not like when i was younger. but, when i was younger, i was the usual self centered type. no more. i grew up. progressive, we cant afford to be. if a person truely wants a goverment like this, apply for a work visa. the one thing i can say, that is done better by other countries, over the good ol usa, is they DO NOT LET ANYONE IN, without a good excuse! a work visa will work, in most cases. but, most who leave, will be looking for a goverment who will take care of em, like ohbama is trying to do, as castro has done, and look at those poor people. now, they want to come to the usa, have allways. why? cause they see opportlunity, not for handouts, but to be able to work hard, and even start ones own buisness. notice all the small stores, are owned by recent legal immigrants? they dreamed of this! and ohbamas fathers dreams, was for the exact opposite. refusing to drill oil, gas, and now, shutting down the coal industry! we need to get back to work! not listen to this GREENIE B.S. maybe in 30 years, not now. NOW, we need work. in fact, im voting out every one of his side, if i can. historically, the left has hated all who want to maintaine americas traditions. why? "progression"-into what? every single nation that has, is in trouble. and if we dont get a new pres, we are going the way of greece!! so get rid of this class warfare mentality. it dosent work.

Comparing alcohol to cannabis is just stupid, so I'm not going to say anything else on that subject. If you think Castro was trying to help his people....dear god. You sound like some greedy fuck who only cares about how much money you can make from cannabis. And as far as your asinine comment about an ar15, I'm sure your local PD has a couple of their own so good luck with that. Do us all a favor and go back to your cave. Anyone who would like to see innocent people go to prison so they can make more money is a fucking parasite.

Enough with the fucking neo-cons. Started with George HW Bush and continues with Rupert Murdoch and William Kristol plus their Project for the New American Century.

Go look at this crap. They have plans for us all over the world. Meaning military. Fuck that.

Send these Republicans packing. This last 2 years of their childish shenanigans should convince even the weak minded to ditch the bastards.

The pot stance of a candidate is only the first litmus test for me. Antiipot? not getting my vote... Pro-pot? OK... I'll take a CLOSER LOOK. Gary Johnson is a great candidate for many reasons. His pro pot stance only being one of them.
