so is it ok to not have a mother? what I do, is take a clone from the original mother. Than take clones from that clone when mature, and so on and so on.

So you take your clone...and turn it into a mother...then make another clone a mother...? Or do you just veg one plant up cut the whole thing down and clone it all?

You dont want to clone a clone more that 3-4 times. The plant will start to loose vigor and will not grow as fast or be as healthy. Personal experience.

I've always started from seed. Just before she is ready to flower, I take clones from her, and off to the flower room she goes. Now when those clones are ready 6-8 weeks. I take clones from them, and off to the flower room the original clones go. So on and so on. I never keep an original mother under veg. Always take clones from the clones. I think I conquer with intenseneal.

I believe intenseneal is saying that it would be better to keep the original seeded mother plant

I'm the complete opposite, 10 generation of cutting from cuttings etc. with BB x WW...don't be fooled by seed company's policy that you NEED to buy seeds every other time. As long as the plant you want cuttings from is healthy, so will your cuts.

That's what I always thought, a Healthy mature plant with produce healthy babies

I clones running right now from "The Cheese" Original european Cheese #1... I am on probably generation 5 of clones. I take clones from clones and to be honest never ever had an issue, the strain grows great continuously. I wont be told by anyone that you cant clone from clones. I recently did a Uncle beens 4 cola topping method with a nice bb x ww and took that top and put it in the cloner... also got 4 total bb x ww to choose clones from this week as I JUST turned them to flower Monday. I will take 5 clones off at least 2 of the plants... I never keep mothers.

logic would suggest that a clone from a clone from a clone would be no different than the original plant the first clone was taken from seeing as how the term clone means exact copy. thinking in terms of a copy machine. if you have a proffessional copy machine the millionth copy will look as good as the first even when making copies from copies. now if you have a shitty copier that uses shitty ink, well, you're gonna get shitty results. hey, but what do i know

Yes, but rooting powder/gel/paste makes it easier. They help protect the raw tissue and encourage root growth.

of course you can clone from a clone of a clone of a clone, or else, clone only strains wouldn't be so sought after..

i don't buy into the genetic drift theory that clones of a clone of a clone will slowly start to drift from the og mother plant, simply for the fact that it's always going to be an exact copy of the mother plant, the very definition of cloning.

I have run 2 - 3 generations of a strain. Then make some Fem seeds and move onto the next strain. Kind of get bored...:weed:
