DS XML-350 or A51-240 ?

Help me deicide between between they two. I will be running this in a 3x3 area with either a one plant scrog in a waterfarm or four 8 head mainlined plants in hempy buckets. I really like that the XML has a wider spectrum and the 10 watt cree's. On the other hand the A51-240 has more power (Spectrum #2) and a better warrenty. If i left anything out please feel free to ask thanks ahead of time.

look at The Dawg's results with AREA51, I believe his scrog is in a 3x3 tent as well and Sally is huge.

I have the xml 150 and really like it. One of the cool features is the spectrum dials so you can control the output with the twist of a couple knobs. Area51 seem like good lights from what I've seen others doing with them. I'd choose the xml but I just really really like those spectrum dials.

I have been watching his grow, he is one of the people that made me considering the A51. Sally is a frosty big girl and I’m excited to see the final weight.

puffenuff I have read your journals as well much respect from here. If I had the cash I would without a doubt cram two Apache WR panels in my space. Only thing about them that scares me is the warranty. I do believe that the beam angle they use is the best in the market at the moment. Do you feel that the 10 watt CREE's add a noticeable difference in penetration over there older DS model?

Thanks! Glad you were able to check out some of my journals. If I didn't have a.couple other advanced panels, i'd definitely add another apache. I agree about the beam angles. And yes, I have noticed big difference in penetration with the xml over the older diamond model, the nugs at the base of the plants were noticeably larger and more dense.

It seems like what panel I chose will determine which method I would use. The XML for the four mainlined plants do to the extra penetration and the A51 for the scrog. The one worry I have with LED’s is penetration. I would prefer to run 4 instead of 1 to give me some breathing room on any mistakes I may make. Thanks for your input.

You seem to think every light is the Apollo.

A51 is in no way associated with Cidly nor shares any parts with their Apollo lights.

A51 has 12 and 15 LED modules, but, so? Does that mean it is from the same place? The Chevy Impala has 4 tires, does that mean all 4 wheeled cars are built by GM?

Cidly uses cheap Epileds and drives them to 700mA, A51 uses Helixeon LEDs, a much better quality and also more expensive, and driven at a much safer 600mA

Anyone that has compared pics can see they're different. Vent holes are different, fan covers are different, lens and lens holders are different.

Color Spread:
420-500nm: 12%

I have 4 of the 6 models A-51 has out. I don't have the 600 or the 135. I have a 3x3 and a 2x4. The 240 is great for my 3x3 and the other 3 lights work great for the 2x4. I like the diversity of multiple lights. Makes cloning and raising seedlings a little easier.

I went with A-51 because of their customer service. They always answer my questions within the same day and sometimes within the same hour. I am still waiting on replies from over a month ago from some of the bigger guys.

I am not huge into specs. I took a chance and bought a few small lights. They worked great so I bought a few more. That's about it.
