World Of Hempy

I have used 50/50 perlite and vermiculite to start seeds and cuttings, never thought going hempy, I use a tray with the seedling cups in it and it a pain in the ass to pop them out with out them crumbling, question so if use hempy to grow do you pick the size of pot for the size of plant you, example a 3 gallon pot and start it that same pot, from seed or clone to harvest with out transplanting correct ???

I think I have some pics of some big SLH buds I grew on my old phone, but it is in a box in my closet somewhere and I don’t feel like digging for it right now, so all I can show ya is what I have around at the moment, but I snapped a couple of pics for ya.
The one picture is of one of the two SLH I have flowering in my little scrog cabinet right now, I topped it once, the bigger main cola is on the left, smaller top on the right, and a little kushberry branch in the front there.
The other picture is my bonsai SLH mom in the middle flanked by two of her clones, which I just topped yesterday.
As far as the nute strength goes, I usually just feed her like a ¾ strength dose compared to the full strength the other two strains get, which is still a little weaker than what the label says to use.

stems turn purple with some strains, no issue there, its nice.

to tell when to water is a bit of a guessing game, you can judge a little by the relative weight of the container. ... i hope those seedling cups have a hole at the bottom.

a buried stem will root. not rot.

and benny bacteria is ok, ive not done it but can't see why not. If an additive can be used in active hydro it generally can be used in passive.

for a larger pot (say 3 gal) you can use a rockwool cube to root cuttings, i.e 1" then insert into a 4" cube then transplant.

or you can aero clone a bare root cutting and transplant.

or possibly use a jiffy pot (theyre cardboard and easy to break) with your perl/verm clone mix then break or directly transplant.

some people here even root and grow in soil, tip pot upside down, remove potted soil plant, and insert the whole soil core into the hempy container.

so many options.

the thing bout hempy im worried about is the ftw factor. thats alot of nutes to feed to waste... i guess i should just learn how much will fill my rez before i put in nutes? how much dry weight did you get per plant moebius?

personally, I don't worry about wasting nutes. But then again I am quite in wasteful general, always buying food that I don't end up eating etc etc lol.
You can be more careful, others will pour like a specified amount (like a cupful) into each hempy and go from there.... that's a skill in itself. tbh ... for me now theres not much wastage.

Dry weight per plant, I have not yet taken specifics. due to the strange way I have sometimes sold my weed. .... sometimes wet, sometimes dry, never cured. It goes to a friend/distributor who takes it from there.

I'm guessing now, but its about between 14-16g per plant. Now I'm talking about it online, I'll be sure to give details since that's what people want to know.

Due to my poor technique with this method, at the beginning some probably weighed less. The important thing for me is/ws to perfect my technique and grow room. Weight has been of secondary importance.

btw. I'm not an expert grower but an enthusiastic amateur.

more experienced than me. i have this one 10'x10' room for now. running on a budget of only 4k. so im trying to get the most weight i can off this grow so i can raise funds to get a house and make a more balanced and high tech grow place.


with 128 plants if i get 4lbs out of it then im happy.but im going to shoot for a higher goal. with both sides of scrog and sog i hopefully can pull an 8 lber.... but i will be happy with 4-5. with 4000watts i hope its worth the time and money put into this...

thats a lot of money to put into a rig ... i bought my equipment bit by bit with the dough from previous run. It WILL be worth it.

Go big or Go home .... I'll be using that one quite a bit as it sums up my attitude in most things. 1or 2 plants is nice whilst learning for me its not a good use of time or money.

Your grow OP will take meticulous planning and discipline. .. not just with the grow but with everything else too.

with money anything is possible. as long as you pay your light bill and stay on schedule.. u will last a long time. the waiting is what is killing me. its only day 8 for me and im ripping my hair out from anxiety. im so impatient with the progess of the seedlings right now. wish i could speed shit up

420 fied avg 15.3 grams per plant in a sog per plant going straight from rooted clone to 12/12. Is grow is killer for the the sog style.

You will, never get sick of the sight of bud my friend. However, watering a hempy SOG, especially in late flower could be tiresome...I'm curious....does it ever get that way? I have to stay on my 2gal hempy's every other day during the final 2 weeks...I could only imagine a SOG's needs if you don't have a drip system or the like.

Just got back from work, on the way home I ordered a take-away and paid for it, they usually take forever to make it, so I went to smoke a joint with my friend who lives across the road. Smoked the joint, got home and ....... Argghghhhh .........forget my take-away in the bloody shop.

I have to stay on my 2gal hempy's every other day during the final 2 weeks...I could only imagine a SOG's needs if you don't have a drip system or the like.

I tried a DIY drip system for 80 before but I have low headspace so can;t collect the run-off. It has to be handwatering for me.

150+ hempys was going to be a hell of a lot of work hand watering. I was secretly worried I couldnt manage it. The Perl/Verm mix was drying out to fast. Then hempyneer NewWorldIcon told me about Mapito and guys, it rocks. Basically, I'm cutting out at least 1 maybe 2 waterings a week and my plants are looking twice as healthy and big. (You can decide for yourself, I'll take pics in 1 hour and you can compare with my last ones)

OK ... Last time it was Violator Kush, this time its Exodus Cheese .. but all the same .. theres something in this Mapito, I tell ya' ...LOL

How is Mapito on multiple uses? I've seen it used before, but the main draw, in my mind, for perlite is that you don't have to worry about enzymes and cleaning it, just rip the roots out, dump it in a bucket, collect what's on top and then throw it back into the pot.

Also, mold and algae seem like they would much prefer Mapito over rocks like perlite.
