Actually I think your point is very valid. However, I think the whole argument is stupid. I'm nearly positive that I have had both instances come true at one point in my experiences (Leaf staying green after being cut off, as well as turning brown after have been cut off).

One thing is certain though. If they die on the plant, they die yellow or brown.

e; Cuz I know for damn sure that some of the leaves I cut off and use as trim, maintain their same color, green.

I've never seen green leaves trimmed from a plant turn brown, I believe the only thing that would break down the trapped chlorophyll in theses leaves would be intense light exposure.

I have leaves that I throw outside lay around until they wither away completely, and they do in fact turn brown and crispy.
