Using fish water??

does anyone use water from their fish tank to water their plants, ive heard you can do this and its beneficial. when i clean my tank, the water i remove is absolutely full of fish shit as i syphon it off the bottom. should i use this water or will too much fish shit be bad for the plants??

hmm i believe wastes have nitrogen, and are beneficial. im not positive so dont do anything yet, i think it would help your plants though if you used the water.

yeh the water should have nitrates in which i know are beneficial to aquatic plants but not sure about other plants?

corect, im talking about freshwater. i might try the syphoned water on 1 plant and see how it does.

I use my fish water, and it works wonderfully i only have one plant but it is 8 incehs tall one month old and has 6 healthy fan leaves and 4 nodes i believe the nitrates help

Your plant will thank you for it. Just keep in mind that if use other nutes which you may for other elements that is not in the tank water, just make sure you get some that is lower in nitrogen. The effects are usually not really noticable though, its more of a long term thing, please dont make me explain it. I will if I need to though.

Wary away then. Algae and algae spores that live in a fish tank will not live on land.

Fish poop is wonderful stuff just use like 1 part manky poop water to 3 parts clean water and you have a nice non burning nitrate supplement,plus you got rid of some doodie.
