Plz tell me i didnt mess my cure up :(

hey guys,
well i have been letting my babies air dry for like 65 hours. and i think i read the harvesting tips wrong.
I assumed when people say the stem is cracking meant me pushing on it and it brakes?
but now im thinking maybe people ment when it naturally cracks? all i know is i pushed it with a medium amount of force and the stem cracked off or bend
now i put them in a jar. doing 1 hour closed, 30 minutes open. i see no signs of moisture or anything wet.

You didn't mess up. A popular method is to wait until the stem snaps a little. There is a couple of good tutorials stickied at the top of this forum if you have questions.

A hygrometer may help. This is the method I use currently: I remove all fan leaves, cut off individual branches, give each bud a thorough trim, hang dry the branches for 3-7 days until the buds are crispy feeling, sometimes the stems snap or crack when bent but sometimes they're a still a little bendy, I cut the buds off the stems and jar with a hygrometer and watch the RH burping as needed. The hygrometer is great for telling you if the buds need to dry more out of the jar or if your on the right path to a good cure. Also no more guessing on when to burp.

**I read on one of the turtorials to do my burping like the light cycle. 12/12. so im trying that. hopefully the chrolpyn (sp) smell will go away soon
I smoked some and it was not very good. gave me a small buzz but more lame/annoying then anything.
but only dryed like 30 hours at the time
i sure hope it gets better soon

I use the hygrometer method myself and have excelent results with it., I usually aim for 55 to 60% humidity, once reach I close the jar and cure for at least one month, keep checking now and then to make sure the humidity doesn't rise any....good luck.

I don't know if the cure process will effect the potency but I do know effects the smell and taste. My 1st havest I poorly dryed one of my plants and it smelled like fresh cut hay. I didn't really understand the curing process yet and would basically just open the jar 2-3 times a day to feel the buds. If they felt moist I would take them out of the jar for an hour. I did this for about a week. After that I just burp the jar once a day. After about 3 weeks the buds smelled like marijuana but were very dry with a harsh smoke. The hygrometer helps take the guess work out and now the my smoke is smooth and the buds smell incredible.

hey guys. well after 12 hours of in the jar the buds felt damp, not like OMG , but for sure a lighter wet feeling. is this a signal? should i do the 12 horus open and close again i planned? or another 24 hrs. thx

I jarred my schnazzel-berry 2 days ago, after a 5 day hang...I burp every morning for 1 hr...this will continue for a week at least...then its once or twice a week...then its test and guess...when its where I want it it stays air-tight...KISS...hth

first off dont burp 12 on 12 off

You dont really dry in a jar - you cure in a jar!


Take your stuff out of the jars and put two inches deep in a paper sack over night. Since your close check multiple times a day for ''x'' amount of days and or ''x'' amount of hours till it feels like it can go back into jars.

Then put back into jars over night and check the next morning. If it feels like the bud is still wet. Then back to the sacks repeat as necessary.

For me I hang for 3-4 days then bag for a few days rotating the buds in the sack so they dont touch each other in the same spot all the time and doesnt dry right.
then its off to the jars. I only have to check to see if I messed up and not really to burp them to let air out as I had properly dried them before I put them in jars.

WET BUDS IN A JAR = MOLD!
