Dwc problem!! Help please!!!!

I am growing in a DWC 5 gal, plant is 4 weeks old, Nutes I am using are a free sample pack.. I forget what they are exactly. I am using as directed from their booklet guide. PPM is at 250, PH is at 6.0 Wtf is going on?? Plant looks like death is becoming her

Looks really deficient, and 250 seems really low.

Are you sure these are general purpose grow / bloom nutes and not just a bloom enhancer?

I'd just drain that water, refil it, add dynagro Grow at 10ml-15ml / gallon and adjust the PH. If you don't do something soon, you'll probably loose the plant.

Check on nutes first u dont want to be feeding crap. 250ppm is fine. Keep ur ph between 5.7 to 5.8

If ur nutes turn out to be crap. Then i would recommend lucas formula easy to use and cheap with good results.

I would re-calibrate my ppm meter if I were you... new growth looks decent though I would flush then add new nutrients back to your res'... I would also stop using whatever nutrients you're using now because if you can't remember what brand nutrients you're using then how're you supposed to know what elements/minerals your plants are getting? If you continue using them defiantly do some research in regards to feeding <-- Likely the root of the problem...

My first question would be what kind of water are using? Tap? Distilled? Rain? I use Distilled with Cal/Mag because my tap water is too heavy in Iron. I would definitely scrap the cheap nutes as well.

Did you try the iron water?Or is it hard calcified water?
I did DWC with well water that a high iron content (Rusty stains on faucets) with no problems.

I am using CFL's about a foot away.. Using City water, I let it sit for a few days and them put my PH down in it to get it to about 6 I will look into the lucas formula...

Yes, I did and when I tested the water straight from the tap with a ppm meter it had a ppm reading of over 700 and its pretty obvious by heavy rust stains Iron is the leading factor there. Once I switched to Distilled with Cal/mag my problems went away.

Lucas Formula is the ticket for you though asauve, no need for Cal/Mag and a cheaper nutrient solution. Whether it works out with your tap water is the question. Honestly, I can't believe you are growing hydro and only using CFL's. Good luck.

Ya, I imagine if your tap water is above 300-350 then you will start to run into problems. I was expecting mine to be around 400 or 500 not over 700. Now I'm stuck using Distilled water and Cal/Mag that I run at 200-250ppm before adding nutes when using full strength nutes.

Low light ratio, and flowering vs veg

Lucas Formula should be used in the same ratio throughout the grow. There is a misconception that one should use 5ml of Micro and 10ml of Bloom, when in veg, and switch to 8ml of Micro, and 16ml of Bloom, when flowering.
This was never stated by Lucas himself. He originally stated that the 0-5-10 ratio was for LOW LIGHT situations (fluorescent lighting like PL/L and CFLs, or HID lamps less than 400W), whereas 0-8-16 is for medium to high light (400W+)

You can get bud with cfl's while you learn.

Wow! 700ppm is alot.I do not know what the ppms of the well water was but it was on the acidic side,and would stain porcelain.

seems like a magnesium/ nitrogen deficiency. but like everyone else is saying, let us know ur nutrients. 250ppm is very low for a plant that size especially it being an indica. if u know how to foliar feed, try doing that to clear up some problems.

Ya, I used the well water before I knew what ppm it was and had problems from the start, when I got the tester I was shocked and went to the store immediately to buy distilled water and Cal/Mag. I start my clones at 100 ppm Cal/Mag, that's a big difference from the 700.
