found this on ICM

"Because of the Enhanced Spectrum of LumiGrow LED solutions, double the measured PAR values of HID lights to achieve a comparable PAR value (LumiPAR)."

That light looks incredible. WOW, just amazing. After checking out the price, its almost to rich for me. Cant wait for you to share your results, then I see myself getting a couple. Hope you set your stuff up quick. I got the same setup with those tough-box totes. You gave me a super LED itch. :)

Hey Guys,
New to the Site. I just expanded My pre-existing LED set-up with double the power.... Before I was using Just:
1 Apache tech 200 Watter.
1 Hollowed out closet space
2 exhaust fans for passive air flow

However, I have now expanded to include an additionall 300 Watt (Dr. Growrite LED) from EBAY and a 2x4 grow tent indoors with a 4'' fan to venhillate...
FoxFARM Soil and Nutes.
Smart Pots
Trays for draining.
Currently I have the following crop:
2: tahoe OG(testing the myth that indicas dont grow as well under LED's)
1 White Fire(sativa!)
1 Afwreck(Sativa
1 Purple Barnie!
1 Willie Nelson(SATIVA!)

Additionally I started a cloning chamber under a indoor flourescent light I got from home depot for 50. so far so good! I am in week 4 or 5!

Sweet man, finally another apache tech owner! I love mine, but I have the white/red combination. Welcome to the site, should start a journal here, I'd be subscribed for the journal for sure.

i have to say my setup will be a bit of a hack setup, mainly i am working with a tight budget, also i want to see if the cheaper led lights are viable, what i have found advertises 3w per led, and 150-350 lights per unit, some are pure colours, the 350 are 20% red and 80% blue 150 lights $40 350 lights $60, will let people know if they work and are any good, if they dont work i will just save up and get the expensive ones, i want to run the system off solar power too, but once again that will have to be saved up for, grow room will be home made from cheap materials, i dont have a cupboard to use so have to improvise, my journal will have all the details

lumigrow is trying to chase black dog who smokes everybody out there. they've had 5w lights out for almost 2 years now, 15 spectrums including uv/ir - they grow top shelf rock hard buds, all the way down to the bottom, and thats with the 3w leds. theres a thread around somewhere that a guy's using a bd700 but had mite issues, when it gets cleaned up we'll get a clean grow finally. I've been doing outdoor, getting ready to build a new room though and will be running a bd700 with a 600hps unit for a couple of cycles until I can grab another bd700.

Do LEDS really work? there is a supply shop down the street from my house that wont carry LEDs and say they dont work. Id really like to use them but im affraid to spend the cash in fear of them not producing properly. This will be my first grow and ive seen some boxes on line with LED set ups in them and am interested in this just scared of waisting all that cash.

Please help...

I am only on my 3rd grow ever, but opted for LEDs from the outset due to the technology, energy savings and heat issues. Definitely not "experienced" in this but learning with each step. My set up is probably not as elaborate or nice as some, but so far it has yielded results that I am pleased with. I won't call them "good" because I actually have nothing to compare them to as I have never grown with HID.

I am currently flowering the following plants - both grown from seed and vegged for about 8 weeks while another group of plants was finishing. I vegged them under CFLs:

Barney's Farm Tangerine Dream

Delicious Seeds Northern Light Blue

My set up is as follows:
1 - 90w (2w) UFO
1- 135w (3w) Blackstar UFO
(2) Large 2700k CFLs

I added the CFLs recently because of some reading I did through various sites and forums and some observation that the plants weren't thriving as well as expected. The extra white light did make a difference almost immediately. I know some would say that this is some flaw with LED as a whole, but I think it just speaks to the cheap LEDs that I have. The Blackstar seems to be much better for sure, but still not a current generation panel with full spectrum light or anything.

I have been feeding Aurora Innovations Soul Synthetics nutrients.

Here are some pics:
IMG_3240.jpgIMG_3255.jpgIMG_3271.jpgIMG_3273.jpgIMG_3276.jpgIMG_3300.jpg

Currently they are beginning their 4th week into flower. One thing I have noticed from the previous grows is that under the LEDs they seem to take a week or two longer than the strain specs typically state. It seems to me - again, I am a total newb - that the trichomes don't seem to go amber and degrade quite as quick as you would expect from say an 8 week flowering plant. Just finished growing Kandy Kush and Blueberry and both of them took a good week past their advertised finishing period.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Blackstar Chrome FSF panels or if there are others that have proven performance. I really like the LEDs and think that the technology is going to be dialed in and we will see results in line with energy-wasting HID stuff.

As cannabiscultivation said they do work. As far as cheap goes, that is relative. Certainly any LED worth growing with will have a higher initial cost but if it is a quality unit it will end up being less than HID in roughly 18 months depending on what your bulb replacement cycle would have been, how how the climate where you are located. I would also agree that getting ripped off can happen easily and would certainly recommend talking to any company you are considering on the phone and also use these forums. The reputable growers who are willing to share their experiences are incredibly valuable. Keep in mind though that I say reputable.

The best advice I can give is to consider cost in terms of dollars per watt. This is the easiest and quickest way to compare lights on a level playing field today. For an LED grow light to work effectively for growing and flowering cannabis you need two things; power and spectrum. One can help make up for a slight deficiency in the other but to optimize growth you need both to really flower well. Of course you want the cost per watt to be reasonable but if it is low then you should watch out for getting ripped off as cannabiscultivation said.
