germinated seed...how long til pops soil?

It had just cracked/split...u could just see the tail trying to stick out...I usually throw em in as soon as they crack...I think I'm jst gonna go straight to damp soil from now on...let em crack n grow from under soil

I think germing in a paper towel is just a useless extra step, If you soak them 24-48 hours in warm water they pop hours after you put them into rockwool, or soil. I go rockwool. I soak my seeds for 24 hours drop the seed in rockwool and the cotyledons start to surface the next day in fast seeds, slower seeds show the second day.

View attachment 2388512she was just cracking the surface as I came home from work this morning....took bout 36hrs...bubbleicious auto....I got 4more...and a skunk#47...I did paper towel for 24hrs then dirt for 36 n Ta da!!!

I am tellin ya man. Just toss 2 seeds in a glass of water and let them sit overnight then plant them. They will be up in no time and you don't have to worry about fucking up the tap root either

Don't even worry about pre-soaking. Fill your cup with soil, make a moist fluffy pocket of topsoil for your seed to sit 1/8" deep in, and then place it in. Make sure the seed is positioned properly (dimpled side up, hinge side down). Put it in a humidome, or hell you can just throw some glad wrap on the top of your cup if you want.

Just my point of view but I like the 12hr soak for a little head start. Anyone that has grown for awhile has his/her way that works the bestest. There is a 1000 ways to get to the end. you'll find the way you like best.
