alright i was talking to a buddy and wanted me to ask you guys a question hes got a grow room down in his basement and his inline vents outside problem is for that past few weeks his furnace stops working its happend like 4 times he had a heating guy come check it out and they told him it was because the inline is sucking to much air so the furnace cant suck air and he said the only way they can run the inline and the furnace is to have a window open in the basement does anyone know whats going on ive never heard of anything like that happening hes running a 1000 watt and a 600

any help is welcome trying to get this figured out but im stumped just dosent make sence to me it gets to cold with the widow open

they just added the inline over the summer but had no idea it would do that because they just started running heat

Sucking too much air? From what the room? Did he connect the inline to the furnace somehow? kinda having a hard time understanding that. So the inline is an outvent, why dont he buy a cheap $20 inline online and make an invent to go with the out. That way bad air out new fresh air in.

its in the room not connected to the furnace the furnace is on the other side of the basement running passive intake dosent make sense to me either just going from what they were told by the guy

lol my ramblings are contagious i see grorite lol. Could your friend get a intake fan, smaller than the exhaust so stale air doesnt hang around to long, thatd mean a constant supply of fresh air as thats what i think he is lacking. Peace as always brother.

he can still have more negative than passive, just sounds like all the air is getting taken away from the furnace, maybe have intake fan right next to furnace as itl keep the furnace working and wont change shit to the grow.

You're saying what you (he) was told, is that the furnace shuts off because of too much air?????? LOL
I hope he didn't pay the HVAC guy for that diagnosis!

hey chuck, i think its because to much air is being sucked out meaning the furnace has no air to burn.
OK, that makes sense then........... TY
However, that would mean there's not enough oxygen in the room for flame?
Maybe we are confused/ confusing ourselves, because the diagnosis was vague.
First, 'the furnace stops working', then 'the furnace can't suck air'.
If it can't suck air, I would tend to think the returns may be plugged, and if so, might cause a sensor to shut it down altogether, but to say 'it stops working', we don't know if it's the motor (fan), or the unit shuts down completely, meaning, which happens first.

DUDE, lots of variables, and possibilities, and we all don't have sufficient facts to give you good accurate answers.
We're trying, but you know, you gotta help us too.
