Don't touch those nutes for at least 3 weeks.
Plenty of light, fans, and lots of reading...........
Good luck, and WELCOME!
What is the Kelvin rating on the CFL's you are using?
5000k or 6500k for veg, and 2700k for flower I hope.........

I like to stay away from any Non-Organic soil mixes. Go to your local hydroponics store and they will be able to give you information on what soil is good to use and how long it will sustain your plants without nutes. I am a fan of the 400 Watt metal halide light. I use it from seeding to the end of the vegging stage. Then I switch over to a 400 Watt High Pressure sodium light. Growing is not something you wake up and decide to do one day. It take a lot of money and time to get yourself started. Half-assing will result in a lot of money spent and dead plants to show for it. Research is your friend. Your will need fans and a vegging and flowering nutes. As well as a PH tester (Very Important). Also remember cleanliness is the key to a successful grow.

okay yeah thats what i thought are you planning two plants if so your gonna need alot more light those two 40 watt ones wont even cut it for one well not if you want something decent also if you have a spare dresser they make great grow boxes that is what mine is you can find them free on craiglist and places like that remember 100 actual watts per plant min more is always better though 3 of thos 40s would do you fine for one
