Quick Question about DWC and Power Outage

So one thing I failed to plan for on my stealth DWC grow is a power outage. I have a strong feeling I might lose power tonight dues to the big ass winter storm coming through the middle of the US right now. I have a DWC setup, running two air pumps hooked to 3 air stones.

My question is, if I lose power, about how long do I have before my plants start becoming affected? Its literally iced out everywhere in my town and I am freaking out If anyone reads my grow journal and sees how far my plants have come I am sure they would understand, I have babied these plants back to life. I am 25 days into flowering!! Shit, someone give me some support! Looks like I won;t be sleeping tonight :wall:

Seems like to me, if I did lose power it would be better for my roots to be suspended in air instead of water with no bubbles.....am I right about this??

I think if it comes down to it I might be ok draining my water and occasionaly misting the roots with water. Does anyone think this will be ok?

When the power went out here i had no air for 6 hours.I left them in the tank and had minor signs of droopyness but it wasnt much at all. When i switch rezez i dont have them sitting in water they sit in a empty bin, within 30 mins the whole plant will start to droop like a mutherfucker..I rec. leaving your rez halfway full so only about half the roots are sitting in water..And it if comes to the extreme wear your plants are tilted over and dieing you could blow in the air tubes to give them air..Or go buy a generator..I havent tryed to have the roots in a empty bin and spray them but i imagen that would work sounds like aeroponics but wouldnt you have to spray ever 15 min? or sumten like that..

Your welcome..^^^^That will work for keeping the nutrient salts from setteling at the bottom of your tank also, wich useally occurs after 24 hours with no air the salts will clump up at the bottom of the tanks after acouple days it will start to smell and your tank will start getting algae..

I know I'm a little late to the party here and that this guys grow is done and over with but for anyone who reads this is you have the time and money buy a quality battery powered air pump (better yet, buy a couple and a ton of whatever sized batteries it uses you never know how long your power will be out
