this is nothing new. i have a strain called seraph or red wreck that is high cbd and very low thc. lot of people that never smoked, dont like the "high" feeling, just want appetite and sleep. these strains def. have their place, although i prefer the high myself...peace

an anti-inflammatory doesn't treat all conditions that medical weed is recommended for. and that's what the article is stating cbd is. they won't be doing away with thc for quite some time I'd say.

Oh my god some of the people on this site are so stupid!!! CBD is an extremely valuable cannabinoid, first of all. Second of all, there is no possible way to "rid" the planet of cannabis containing THC. Hundreds of thousands of people have the seeds, and will preserve them indefinitely, I assure you. By introducing High CBD cannabis to the world, if anything they are enhancing the world of medical marijuana. CBD is responsible for the couchlock, sleepy, lazy, knock you out high associated with a lot of "heavy indicas". Whoever wrote this article implies that marijuana high in THC will become unavailable, which is completely untrue. What is true, is that the low THC, high CBD strains they are creating are already working wonders on people's medical ailments, without the side effects of hallucinations, euphoria, etc...Holy shit yall, pay attention to SCIENCE. It's what got us here.

No, this is a consistency here. You have 4-5 fools for every 1 person with credible knowledge. It would be okay if the fools just kept their mouths shut, but they don't. They share their ideas, and the helpful people's opinions get cluttered in a bunch of hooplah, most of which is driven by ego and not useful substance. I'm glad RIU allows for such discussions, but this really isn't the place to go to obtain credible medical information.

Choose your sources wisely, people.

Honestly, if everything stayed the same about the "high" except actually being high, I think it would be nice. You could calm anxiety and stimulate your appetite while still being able to function optimally.

There is already a way to *medically* ingest marijuana without the "high" feeling.

And I guarantee you it has much MORE medical benefits than smoking *any* weed that's low in thc and high in cbd.

Truthfully, the people who are still smoking *any* type of marijuana either don't know about juicing, or they're doing it FOR the "high".

Which only serves to behoove the *medical* marijuana "cause".

I know about hemp oil, didn't know about juicing. What is juicing exactly? You just squeeze all of the THC out of the marijuana leaves with a device and then mix it with a drink or food?

I am 54 and have been a "stoner" for33 years..For the last 7 months I have been taking extracts to fight my cancer...I don't get high from smoking anymore-my body is flooded in THC and CBD....I still get a little high from the cannabis oil but it is not the same....For me now the "high" is not as important as the HEALING.....That is why many people like me have many uses for plants "high" in CBD....That being said the THC and CBD Need to work together in your medicine to help with your healing.......

You are right - I'm guessing that is their plan... Plus on top of all that, the company coming up with this abomination will prolly try to get a royalty for each seed sold - the Monsanto of weed... These are fucked up times we living in :(
