Interesting thread. Personally I regret cigarettes. I know for fact that smoking hasn't been good for my gums/teeth (dentist in family) however I've pretty much got away with the raving days. I was surrounded by all sorts of drugs in London and unlike many mates around me didnt end up on anything serious. I know people who ended up in a bad way It was always weed and whiskey for me - in that order but not at the same time! I definitiely can't swim a KM in one go now!! I always ate well and was in the gym for years and this definitely helped.

From the outside I look good and my body looks at least 10 yrs younger, my face looks my age I think but I'd hate to see the state of my lungs!!

Ps Smoking hasn't made my chest bigger, quite the opposite as I used to have a right pair !!
WAIT! Didn't somebody just say "Pics! Or it didn't happen!"??;-)

I've discovered within the past 7 or 8 years that I have congestive heart failure, which is hereditary, but I have bad knees from running, dropping and sliding across the kitchen floor as a kid, and I have a bad back from many years leaning over fenders working on cars.
Not to mention bad eyes from many years of looking at schematics and manuals.
Shit,, I'm like a teddy bear with the stuffing falling out.......

The knees I understand. I'm also a little stiffer in the mornings when I first get up. I do a lot of range of motion to get the kinks out. Plus I get little aches and pains in my joints. My eyesight has gotten a little wonky. I have to wear reading glasses now. Other than that, I'm pretty healthy. I attribute it to clean living and lots of Tequila.

Would you go back and change anything if you could?

What does that condition feel like, what did you have to change in your life to deal with it?

You grew a tit? What does that mean, how did that happen? Did you get more than one consultation for diagnosis? How does weed make you grow a tit?!
I wish weed could make you grow a tit lol

I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. My cholesterol has been high my entire life. Lowest I ever got it to was 210, I ate veggies and fish only. It averages at about 235. I can't take statins so... Mom died from heart attacks and strokes; what I really fear is having a stroke that doesn't finish me off.

Other than eyes that need readers and a constant battle with my weight I have nothing else that bugs me. The only thing I wish is that I was taller.

Edit: Neither of my parents lived to see 70. Both parents and both brother diabetic, I'm not.

What health issues do you attribute to lifestyle compared to genetics as you've aged?

Do you feel your eating or smoking (cigs) habits have caused damage to your body over the years?

If you could go back, would you still do it, or would you take better care of yourselves?

Those that are elderly with no medical conditions, what do you attribute it to? What's the key to longevity?
I smoked cigs from the age of eleven til I was nineteen, it was an inevitable thing to do as my mum and dad both smoked unfortunately they both died within five years of each other at 65 and 63 from smoking related illnesses ie heart diesease and cancer, needless to say myself and all my brothers and sisters that smoked gave up. However I went on to get breast cancer thirty four years later but my siblings are all healthy, they said my cancer is oestrogen fuelled my own hormones are making it grow. Through cancer treatment I have developed arthritis and depression, I don't think I could have changed what happened to me, I didn't abuse my body when I was younger and my diet was healthy and still is I just think it was fate that dealt me these things, I was diagnosed with cancer the same day as my friend she is a piss head and party's all the time, she has different partners and lives life to the full, and my children all said no wonder she got cancer living like that, but it wasnt fair that I got it so I don't always think lifestyle matters, it didn't me any good living a clean healthy life so I've decided to smoke weed have a beer and party when I've got the energy lol

UGH!
I don't know what I'd do without my cow.
I love beef, I eat it still almost moving, always have.
Both my parents died at 61 and 60, I lost grandmother, grandfather, both parents and an uncle all within 5 years and even managed to squeeze in a divorce in there too.
