I've never bought and asked what it was, except for "Good", but if not for all the names, the breeders would have no way of differentiating the strains when they develop a new one to have a certain trait.I mean I've been growing and propagating my own seeds since 2003; all I know is Indica, Sativa, Hybrid, Ruderlis.. People please stop with all these names!!!
Weed is WeedUm...How about for indentification?? This is like asking why people label different kinds of roses with different kinds of names...Because the flowers have different characteristics!!! And please don't even go there, with the whole "weed is weed" argument. Cannabinoids vary throughout every strain, Different cannabinoids make for different effects. Can the "name game" get ridiculous?? OF course, and it can be misused and fabricated. But in general, it does a lot of good for the industry.
No it is not People like some weed, not others, so if they have names then they know what they are planting and as such that it is the one they enjoy more be it in terms of taste or high. What a stupid statement. (although i know you were probably just saying it in jest)Weed is Weed
Really? LoLI mean I've been growing and propagating my own seeds since 2003; all I know is Indica, Sativa, Hybrid, Ruderlis.. People please stop with all these names!!!
Well Vilify you are right in saying to distinguish strains on the market; for myself my strains have way different effects. I have a wide spectrum from energetic, laugh until your stomach hurts, bud that keeps you in the middle(social), and the all time favorite for my ailments.. the lights out!! I have pics that you can see on my page.bag appeal is bag appeal, not the name its given. unless you dont know what you are doing when it comes to smoking, buying, etc.
indica 1, indica 2, sativa 3, gets kind of boring.
sure for personal, it might be find, but most seeds are hitting a very large market, and im sure as hell not going to buy indica 1, or indica 2.
but thats not saying a name will earn my purchase. my purchases are decided by its effects, its looks, its smells.
names are also good for keeping track of which plant is which. as each plant has a different effect. even if it is a slight difference.
if you breed your own, how does it effect you?
No of course not, but I'm not marketing. I grow for myself and I guess I'm more on the technical side of it.Really? LoL
Do you have kids? Boy1, Boy2, Girl1, Hybrid
Exactly!! Then you have bubblicious #1, OG bubblicious, Kush Bubblicious???? Come on!!! It just gets redundant.I've never bought and asked what it was, except for "Good", but if not for all the names, the breeders would have no way of differentiating the strains when they develop a new one to have a certain trait.
However, I agree with you, when a thread is started with the question 'my plant smells like bubble gum, can I call it bubblicious?
Because there is a lot more than 4 types of weed out there lol, and you gotta admit some of the names can be pretty funnyI mean I've been growing and propagating my own seeds since 2003; all I know is Indica, Sativa, Hybrid, Ruderlis.. People please stop with all these names!!!
