600W HPS - C99, Master Kush, White Rhino

I have grown 2 times in the past, but that was about 4 years ago.

I got seeds from attitude seedbank and for this cycle will be doing:
C99
Master Kush
White Rhino

Using a 600W HPS in a advanced nutrients melonhead reflector.
Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil is being used, as well as the Fox Farm nutrient line-up

Day 18

Plants are dying for nutes. I hit them with the first LIGHT dose yesterday (1/4 strength). It didn't seem to do much. Will hit again with 1/2 strength tomorrow.

I was also able to sex some plants tonight.

White Rhino - 2 Females
C99 - 1 Female
Master Kush - 1 Female

I had to pull one White Rhino because it was already showing as a male =(. But happy so far to at least have a female of each strand.

Also I have to say I am very impressed at how much quicker these plants are growing under the 600w hps. My last grow was nearly identical except with a 400w (non digital) and the plants did not grow this quick.

Awesome man, I just threw some under a 400w for fun =). Im curious to see how the 600w performs. Gl man, pulling up a chair because yours are about a week ahead of mine.

Felt bad for being lazy and always posting cell phone pics so I finally busted out the digi =p

Day 20
Plants are doing well. I took these pictures before I did a bit of pruning tonight. Got rid of some lower leaves. Did what some may call a 'early lolipop'. Will do it again in a few weeks. Had too many lower leaves touching the soil anyways....

Day 22

Female Count
C99 - 3
Master Kush - 3
White Rhino - 3

Only 1 plant left to show sex and that is a master kush. So it will be a pretty crowded closet =). Still can't believe that only sprouting 5 seeds of each strand resulted in 3 females of each. Got lucky as shit...

Well just wanted to give an update.

First I wanted to say "don't trust everything you read on this forum". I read a grow journal where a guy says he never Ph'd his water when using Fox Farms nutes. I want to smack myself for even thinking this was doable. My entire grow is now at jeopardy due to this.
I have a bad Cal deficiency and a huge Ph issue. I did an emergency Ph flush a few days ago and am waiting until the plants dry out. I will prob flush them out again tomorrow night.

Hoping I can pull these plants back to life =( </3

I have some calmag plus and a Ph test kit with Ph up/down in hand now. Worst case scenario I have a ton of seeds on hands, but damn these girls were doing good.

Oh dude :( that sucks hey.

Agree with taking everything you hear with a grain of salt! Best to read up on it yourself and then if its wrong its only yourself to blame! I hope you can pull them through dude! Good luck.

I think everything will turn out alright. The plants looked like they recovered well from the first flush. I flushed them again tonight, and hit them with a dose of nutes and some calmag. Will report back in a few days with the results. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Little update. The plants still seem to be growing, but not at the rate they were. There are still signs of a Calcium deficiency on many of the leafs. I did some soil runoff tests tonight and the results were shocking. Lot of it was reading around 4-5. I spent a couple hours flushing all the plants with 5-10 gallons of water each. At the end each runoff was around 6-6.5.

I've been reading up on the fox farms ocean forest soil, and I think after these plants finish I'll be trying a different soil out. Reading a lot of complaints about the soil being/becoming too acidic.

I also hit the plants with 1 cup each of 1/2 strength nute dose with calmag. Hoping in another week to see all these issues clear up.

Note to all those following this: Make sure you keep track of your soil Ph and the water/nutrient solution Ph you are adding. This can kill your grow

Heres a quick shot of the girls in the garage drying a bit before going back into the closet
