Yeah they tried to fuck me with ARM, but I didnt go for it. I knew it was way too unstable and could end up biting everyone in the ass. I took the higher fixed rate.

They didnt know I was going for another loan at the same time

Two days before we had to commit the promise of 6.2% 30 year fixed went to 13% arm with 5k in closing costs
I told them to get fucked I would rather walk away
They threatened to charge me for the appraisal.
I told them have the appraisal company send me a bill
Never heard from them again

Lots of people got fucked over by taking these deals
The mortgage brokers didnt give a fuck they got paid for every point above prime they could trick their victims into signing away

Just for the record, I have seen numerous quotes and numerous video clips of Bush telling congress something had to be done about the loans. At the time people made him out to 'hate' lower income people because he was trying to deny loans to them.
