I found an old thread on here like from 08...I journaled it but don't know how to repost it...its called " CFL : calculations and room design"....check it out
smaller wattage cfls are better that way you can spread the light around 23 watters and 55 watters are the only ones i would useI am on a bit of a budget and I don't want to have to cope with the heat. You can get 600 and 1000 watt pieces that are HPS and MH for like 200, 300 bucks so cost isn't the deal. I was wondering about some set up like you use lamps that have an adapter so they can cope with like one of those 50 buck full spectrum CFLs that have the mongol connections. I'd rather have one on the top and then one facing it and two on the sides and see if that would work. Like, 4 105 to 250 watt mixed spectrums with reflectors. Then you have the size restrictions, too. You could have a little 4 or 5 set up like that, the bulbs would be super close all over the plant and it wouldn't be near as big or hot.
