Super Soil Deficiency? Please help!

What's up nerds? I'm having a problem with my Cheese Quakes. They are at about day 31 of 12/12, and within the last week and a half they have been developing the problems you see below. One plant has the yellowing and necrosis, while one only has the necrosis up near the tops. Since the problem started, I have given them two feedings of Earth Juice (50/50 Grow, Bloom at about 1 TBSP each per gallon), but the problem continues to get worse

how close is your light^?

whenever I get any other problem than fading from lack of food, I give plain water for a while... usually the problem is that I was to over doing it in the first place. (easy to get carried away with teas...)

Thanks for the responses, guys. Here are some details:

- 7 gallon smart pots, about 1/3 super soil, the rest is Roots Organic
- 600 watt air-cooled HPS about 18 inches from the tops
- Water is VERY low on minerals, so I add about 1 tsp/gal of General Organics CaMG+, which brings the pH to about 6.5
- I have given them a couple AACT brews (LOW on the N-P-K)
- Temps are 77 lights on, 65-70 lights off. Humidity is about 45%.

I haven't measured the pH of my runoff, but I could do that next time I water. I haven't been doing much pH checking since starting up with organics.

Any other info that would be helpful? Lots more pics and info in my grow journal (link in sig.), but this problem just started.

This is a thread from a couple weeks ago. The guy who posted today decided he was using too much seaweed in his tea.

I've had similar problems in the past; plants look mostly healthy, except for those wierd burns.

I grow in ammended soil. Usually i use a lot of kelp meal in the soil mix. Last run, I started experimenting heavily with teas. For 1 batch I used neptune's harvest fish and seaweed food, plus liquid seaweed in my tea, after a kelp-meal topdress.

I thought the mix was mild, but it quickly burned most of the leaves on my plants. The spots looked similar to your situation.

This round, i used less kelp in my soil mix, and less in my teas and i've avoided the problem for the most part.

I'm sorry i didnt read through your whole grow journal, but is it possible that you're "seaweed overdosing" too?

Man... I've gotten just about every conflicting answer possible on this one... pH too low, pH too high, not enough food, too much food, food there but locked out...

Fun times. Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I DO appreciate you all trying to help.

have you checked your runoff PH yet?

This is by far the most common issue, many people see it as a nute deficiency but usually just a PH issue.

I will check the runoff pH when I water this evening. I plan to give them just water (filtered through a Small Boy to remove chloramines) with about 1 tsp/gal of General Organics CaMg+ (because my tap water is only about 30 ppm). The CaMg+ brings my tap water pH from about 8 down to about 6.5.

Sound good? Would you recommend pouring a little extra through as kindof a flush, or just water as usual until I get just a little runoff?

that's what I would do homie! I fucked with Roots Organic one time and went right back to FFOF! I cut in some mushroom compost about 2 to 1 FF-Mush. Not saying that is your problem at all brotha! I would just give them some water like you are talking about for a few waterings. If your PH going in is 6.5 you should be fine unless you got some serious shit going on in your pots! If it were me I would keep them on just water and I like to use Drip Clean, it is a little product to help break up salts. Then go from there man. If you start changing up too much shit you wont know what if anything helped! If you are stumped get your ass back to the basics! PH 6.3-6.8 and plain old water!!! Then go back to feeding her once she is happy again! Your supper soil if mixed properly should be the only food you need durring flower right? a couple of bumps here and there with food but for the most part you should be able to just water them right? IDK just some thoghts brotha! GL I hate when my girls aren't doing 100%

In my grow journal (where basically this same conversation is happening...) someone suggested I use some Hygrozyme. Do you think that would be a bad idea?

sounds like a plan. sure..........one flush won't hurt. just let them dry out well after. if you weren't giving cal mag, i'd think.......cal-mag.

I have heard this General Organics CaMg+ is pretty weak, but I use it nearly every watering, and there is dolomite lime in my soil mix (mixed per the Super Soil recipe, exactly).

Let them dry out first and foremost for sure...

I run the whole GO line and have never phd...nota once...ladies are looking mo better than ever!! I use the ca mg around 7 ml/ g and have zero issues with that or any other micro deficiencies.

Take a phat rip and think positive homie!! Your gonna have some dank in no time...:leaf:

Well, I checked the pH of my runoff last night, and it was about 5.0... I flushed about an extra half gallon of pH 6.7 water (w/ CaMg+ and about 1 tsp/gal mollasses) through each to see if I can bring the pH up a bit.

Dont have really a clue what the problem is but supersoil is a just add water recipe and I think you messing with em too much. I use RO water and if i added 5ml GO calmag it would drop the ph to about 4. How yours is coming out at 6.5 idk. Could be why the pH is so low.

RO has zero buffering ability, while my water has at least some buffer (about 30 ppm). That explains the difference between the pH's after adding the GO.
