How much dolomite lime should i apply.

I couldn't afford the barkless soil with lime, worm castings and perlite at the time so i bought a $10 bag of outdoor tub mix discounted to $3 and added perlite.

I don't have a soil pH tester but i do have pH test strips and the runoff is at 5 and the tap water is at 7 so
clearly there are some problems with this soil. My plant is suffering from deficiency's as well evident in the
leaves.

How many tablespoons would you recommend for this size pot???

Dolomite Lime is a slow release buffer , its best to mix a teaspoon with water if your soil is acidic and top dress with a few as well ...

I covered the top with 3 teaspoons, added one to some water and watered it all in. I forgot to flush it though.

I'll do that when the soil is dry i guess.

How did this work out for you? I have sunshine mix 4 and already have them potted. Wanting to know if top dress with lime will work. Thanks.

Correct, but you can go up to 2 tbls per gallon if it's premixed.

Just make sure it's not the hydrated lime. That shit is bad for you

It's hard to over apply lime, but easy enough to UNDER apply it.You should apply 2 TBL/gallon of container size. 3tsp=1tbl. If those are 1 gallon pots, you are still under applied. If they are larger, you are WAY under. For example, a 3 gallon pot would need 6tbl or 18tsp of lime.Regular waterings will work it in, no need to flush. Just water till you have good run off.Wet
