Hmmm....ok after some more reading, the power outage issue has got me a little hesitant....think I might look at the table after all....

If you are worried about power outrage a table still uses power to run the pump and the roots will dry out witch still meens you would still have to worry about a power outage. Buy one or 2 of those battery back up units but do alot of research on their specs and buy a Kill-A-Watt meter to help figure out what you need and such.

dwc is best for power outages the roots can survive several hours

if your looking for air stones you might wanna think about suction cup kind ive had this one that just wont stay glued to the bottom, got a suction cup air stone problem solved.

2nd one looks good...no green ones there though? I'm thinking I need something in a bar style for a large tote... Probably have to d.i.y or d.i.m ...
I run a single 4" round one of those in a 5 gallon tub with no problems but 2 of them is perfect. They are heavy enough that they won't float so no need for glue or w/e of any kind.

Never seen green ones...by round do you mean ball type? I'm not sure if
that would be practical for a large tote....I've seen a few people with simple pvc pipe with holes drilled...maybe il research this more.... Rep for somebody who can save me time and give me the info I desire.... Cheers all!
Awhile back I read some info on how well different air stones worked and the cheap stones like what I use rated pretty high on getting the water oxygenated......I will post a pic of the air stone and my air pumps that I have been useing for years now with good success.......One of my air pumps is bigger than the other....I use a #5 air pump for my air stone's, and a #3 air pump for my drip rings.....This is a good match for a 6 bucket set up......

I had a friend that always over does everything......and he didn't do very well....I think he had to much air, and to many air stone's...and the plants didn't like it......I think there is a happy place on just the right amount of air and this combo works good.....I thought I would share what I have been doing..............nitro..

GypsyBush here, posting as Cali Cali cause... Ots a long story... Im waiting to get my old handle back... :joint::peace:

I used to run a 4x 600w SOG on ebb flow...

before that, I did everything DWC...

you can do what you want, but in a SOG, there is a lot of work.... And the least labor intensive and more stoner friendly set up for SOG is ebb flow...

you can move the plants around to better distribute growth, since they are in pots...

you can clean out your res without fussing with plants... It's remote.... Plus you have ONE tank....

remember , the larger theres, the more stable it will be...
I used 2x 300 gal rubbermaid stock tanks and they stayed stable for over 2 weeks.... No water needed, no nutes needed, no adjustments... Nothing...

right now I have one plantmper 5 gallon bucket and ph needs adjusted constantly as the plants feed and grow explosively!

I LOVE DWC! But if I was doing a SOG, I wouldn't use that metod... Just makes more work for you.

and to touch on a touchy subject....

MY RES IS ALWAYS COLD, I LIVE IN A COLD PLACE... I HEAT MY GROW...

with that said, and the knowledge that colder water has a higher dissolved oxygen content....

I have had failures in both DWC and ebb flow... Ive had a water pump quit.... 18 hours + of lights on (2400w) and I could tellthey were stressed... But I was running straight hydroton... Throw some rockwool flock in there and you got water retention for 3 days+... This is fact, not fiction...lol....

I also had an air pump quit on me once, no idea how long cause I didn't notice it.... At least 4 days... Max 6 since that was when I changed the solution and saw bubbles.... No issues at all....

in short, if you want to do a for real SOG, go with the flow and ebb and flow... It will be easier and less work on you...

cheers! :joint::bigjoint:

Could someone point me to a good thread on constructing principles for ebb n flow/general info.... Cheers....wondering if kids tarp type pool would work in tent.? Tables seem a little pricey for 1m square...

ok, I have begun...bought long type 35ltr container put 6 sites in lid, think cups may be a little small, twin outlet air pump, dug up a couple of my sick lil moms, washed roots, trimmed, placed in cup... See what happens b4 I do the others...did the rest, notable improvement already..

something like this would work well.I've got another one just like it with 10-3 inch sites cut in it. if you had 3 or 4 of these they can be connected thru the drains and work as one common res or run individually . I did 8 in one five gallon bucket with 0 veg time. didn't work out too bad.

8 in a 5 bucket! Wow they must have been side by side! Single colas yeah? So
mine looks like the pic above....long low profile 35ltr with 6 sites, will be using this for mothers, still tossing up wether to do flood table or dwc. Sog...probably go dwc..

yeah, the 8 were zero veg time. I did 5 in a 5 gallon bucket and those were like 3 feet tall. of course some choked out the others but they all made it.

Yea I tried many set ups involving multiple sites in tubs and as long as u take uniform cuts and only flower out ur most strongest consistent veggers u should be ok otherwise like said the strong will eat the weak persay. If u don't have any other choice then by all means do a multiple pot tub but ur main goal should be working up to single sites with 5gallon buckets and as much veg as possible I'm saying my month old veggers at this point are already completely draining a 3.5gallon bucket..
Veg time burns daylight no doubt but I just can't justify the plant numbers/yield doing Dwc sog when u can veg one monster in the place of ten cuts to me its a no brainer n seems that fully mature vegged plants produce the strongest most mature\dense overall better appealing medicine.
I'd stick to tables doing Sog man Al B pretty much perfected the style and its not gonna get much better IMO.

But both dl & I have been where you are, tried what you are trying and we are now trying to save you some hassle by giving you the info...

Like he said, Al B Fuct perfected the style and it's not gonna get much better....
