If your gonna order carbon air filters and hydrofarm fans off ebay, hydroponics inc has a KILLER deal on fan/filter/ducting combos. Shipped mine to alaska for free also. 165$ for 6" hydrofarm with 6x24 filter and 6x25 ducting. Would recommend this guy for your carbon filter needs. Btw, if anyone can beat that price, shipped to alaska, I'm open to suggestions

And yeah, growing without smell prevention IS just like bumping your stereo at 3am. The stuff stinks and everyone knows what the heck the smell is. Don't cut corners. Buy you a big enough fan to do the proper air exchange rates too. a 6" 400CFM fan simply isn't enough for a 12x12x8 room. Don't be silly about it either, you should be running that fan/filter 24/7 unless your in veg mode.

Get some big carbon filters going as soon as possible. You are the asshole, not your neighbors. Just because you are legal to grow doesn't mean you're allowed to stink up your neighbors homes. Its just like having a nice stereo system in your house, its not against the law but it doesn't mean you're allowed to disturb your neighbors with it. Show some respect for your neighbors and do something about the smell.

Some people simply don't realize how much it stinks until someone points it out to them. Sometimes you get used to your environment and don't notice any smells, but a guest to the home might notice it right away.

Personally, I think it's just one of those neighbors that's putting their nose where it doesn't belong.

Yep, I suggest walking the property when you have been away from the house for more then an hour like a lunch or trip to the store. That way you are in tune to the environment not the grow room or house smell. Otherwise, smoking a joint and walking the property won't do it....lol....

If you live alone, or can get away with it, putting secondary fan/filter combo's throughout the house will help keep residual smell down. No ducting, just the fan and filter running. For the most part, these carbon filters do a really good job

You'll be good bro just like you have to follow the law the police must uphold the law. Your neighbors will have to except that as mine had to. Once they see u take a professional and respectable look on things there not much they can do. One day your neighbor may find himself in a position where cannabis is helping him. Until then I'd let him know you respect his outlook and will try not disrespect his beliefs as he should honor yours. If not throw him the bird and tell him to kiss your cannabis ass! Just kidding but sure would have liked to tell my neighbor that. Cool calm and collective would prol be your best bet.

No kidding, im there from 9-7 everyday and in the tent itself twice a day checking it/watering. This last week and everyday now are vicious to people but even now i only really smell it when im in front of both tents. It gradually started to smell so i think i was used to smell and only smelt it in the am when getting there. As for neighbors he couldve just been a concerned neighbor an asked about it. Instead he came inside my unit and questioned me and told me he looked how fast my meter was spinning ect. My first neighbor asked and i told him about the card ect an he said how he smoked and had his card on the way.


In my city there is a bust i just drove by on side of rd. 8 cops and an altima with seats out ect so we see if a detective still come by today. Not sure how serious a cop would take the call. Its a citizen calling because he thinks a neighbor is growing. When his work day is over in couple hrs we see if a detective an cop comes. This guy thinks he has access to my garage lol, hes nuts an if a cop shows up then ill tell him that but trying to play it off cause these last 2-3 weeks are crucial for me. Hoping one never shows up and he lying and just report me to board(already did) but hes a grumpy old guy who has tuff guy attitude and thinks hes in charge so its strong possibility they come.

With everyone bashing the neighbors and calling them assholes I felt the need to tell it like it is with some constructive criticism. It was ment more as a statement to the masses than an attack on the op. He made a very good follow up post and I "liked" it, sounds like there was a lesson learned here.

Keep this interesting while we wait... first harvest ever. Seems ok. Didnt manage the yellowing as well as i couldve. Mabe some cal-mag wouldve helped. Also the tips of leafs burnt. Not sure on that one... the cotton candy had brown spots on it that i now know to be calium def.

well my neighbors are making meth, and are super meth-heads, so if there were any calling of the cops, it would be on them, but I would never do that, they keep their addiction on the d-low and dont let it affect anyone else in the neighborhood.
