How many plants?

How many plants do you think I could grow in a 4'x4'x6'6 tent, with a 600 watt HPS, in three gallon pots?

I would say 9 if you move them around every day. Also depends on strain. Indicas don't seem to mind being close to one another.

I don't think 9 3-gallon pots will even fit in your tent. I think you can squeeze 4 pots in there.
Set the pots on the tent floor to see how much room they take up, go for there.

I run 9 5gl buckets in a 3x3 area. It's tight but it works. I also chop the bottom third off my plants concentrating on 6 or so main colas. I average 2 zips per plant with a 5-6 week veg period.

depends how long you veg or if you veg at all, look into sog and scrog

I agree with you on that one. 4-10 gl pots would be much easier to care for. I'm constantly moving mine around. And in the end it all pretty much is the same harvest time.

The wattage is enough for 9 but your tent size makes me say do four and do them right. Suggest SCROG even then.

I work a 4x4 area and have tried 9 - 2gal, and 6-3gal, in the end I found it much easier to run 3 to 4 3gal, and I get a better yield with 4 plants than any other amount of plants.

I've tried packing my tent, and giving my girls room. Giving them room has won for me. You have the same tent as me, I've got 6 in mine at the moment and they are happy as can be. Most I've done in there was 9 and that was too many in my opinion. Good luck!

I think it's kind of like feeding nutes. Less is more. I am going back to running 6 in my room instead of 9. The plants not so crowded are much denser and the quality is better overall.

That's the same result I'm seeing from doing exactly the same thing. I even chose the same strains so the comparison would be fairer. More room equals happier girls

I can fit (12) 5 gal pots and the saucers in a 4x4 tent and I do it often (veg only).
