i'll have to get some of that, its new on me. nice 1so I purchase PH Storage Solution, and it not only cleaned my diode, but brought a pen that I though was dead, BACK TO LIFE.

Some things I better left explained by pictures. Here is the PH pen that I've been using for a couple years now that's been great:Ph calibration fluid, use a small screw driver and adjust accordingly. There is a small screw next to the batteries
lol, i see what you mean now, nice pen btw i just use the cheapo 1s as i break them all the time, To remove the algae without using toxic chemicals, try vinegar!I've been having issues getting ALL the algae growth out of the rubber cap. It drives me nuts!!
I have a polti Vaporetto steam cleaner that I use round the house for general fiddly cleaning purposes but youre not going to buy one for that purpose, as previously mentioned, vinegar may do it, or possibly an aerosol can based product..I've been having issues getting ALL the algae growth out of the rubber cap. It drives me nuts!!
Cool, so you find coco easier to prep than Mapito? I agree with the rock dust issue when initially using it, a mask is a good idea. How you finding it as a working medium in comparison to the coco? After soaking the mysteriously new "Mapito" medium for 24hrs in R/O water and light nutes (5.8ph @ 430ppm), I transplanted two of the G13 PE's into 2 gal hempy buckets as their final home. I might see some issues....the leafs were so close to the bucket edge that placing the chunky, nutrient enriched media around the root zone caused some contact with the leafs. Lifting the leaflets with my rubber gloved hands (a must with rockwool to protect your skin) made contact even more abundant. I made sure to spray all leafs top and bottom with Arrowhead drinking water (very neutral pH, no secret). I did not use perlite in the bottom per advice here on RIU...we will see how it goes with watering frequency and most importantly water quantity per feed. I had things so good with chunky # 3 perlite in the bottom of my coco hempy's....like an even 1 gallon per bucket per feed with the hole 2" from the bottom. Also I've heard rock-wool can cause some pH swings and coco was a no-brainer in that respect. Anyhow, if you go this route there is some work to it...rinsing, nute pre-cheging and then mixing every thing up to ensure consistency. The polyurethane foam chunks do float to the top when soaking. Not to mention wearing a breather mask with the open bag (which is loaded with airborne offtake when open) and several pairs of nitrile gloves while mixing/handling. There too, bagged Canna coco was supreme in ease of start-up. View attachment 2414135View attachment 2414136
how many of the slh hermied? i have like 5 growing now. hope none of them hermie on me. question. if i get clones from a plant that ends up hermie-ing before it is in flower then does that mean the clones from the plant that eventually hermied will be hermies too?
To calibrate do pour some calibration solution into a clean shot or narrow glass, enough to completely submerge the electrode. So to combat the algae growth inside the cap and on the diode, I soak it in a mild bleach solution for an hour and then run it under water and re-calibrate. When you re-calibrate, do you do so with the solution in the cap? Or do you calibrate it in a shot glass (more sterile) to ensure that it is set properly. Appreciate all the help guys!
Shiva, Interesting vent setup with the CF at the bottom there buddy. Not critiquing but how's that working for you?
yeh i got 5 fem slh. i havent notice any make preflowers yet. ive seen some female preflowers so far. still got a month left on them so hopefully i see flowers on them before i clone them. question. if i top each budsite when i clone will that stress it out to hermie it? i was hoping to get clones off of each but site now and then two weeks later get another round then flower. but i am scared to overstressYes clones from very hermie prone plants will hermie. If it goes hermie from stress it doesnt mean all cuttings will hermie but it will mean they are predisposed. Did you buy femenized SLH? From what ive found the femenized SLH is very prone. Keep a super close eye on it. I only had 1 of them. Grabbed it from a dispensary because my girlfriend really loves the strain. Wish i hadnt now. Finding a decent amount of pollenated buds. Even though ive had one problem after another im loving Hempy style. Think ill switch from LUCAS formula back to my local brand of hydro nutes Blue Moon..
