How do I get the string outta my reflector hanger / yo-yo?

I forgot to tighten one of the yo-yo's. Now the string has retracted back in to the casing. Any idea how to get it out?
I've tried to losen the wingnut but it doesn't really help.

I had the same problem. Once you take it apart it literally is impossible to put together correctly. I just went and brought again mate

Forget the yo-yo's and go for the light hangers. They are about the same price and work much better.

Step one: Throw yo-yos in trash
Step two: Buy hangers as posted above
Step three: Profit

I ended up buying some chain. 4mtrs turned out to be cheaper than a pair of yo-yo's. I'll keep my eye out for those light hangers Cheers
