Do loose lips sink ships?

Well I don't have the fear because I'm not a stupid ass and I do not grow out of my residence. I also have a home security system that does quite a nice job; records inside and out 24/7 streamed directly to online storage. (All camera's are visible and I there is a small monitor at the doorway where potential scammers/solicitors/salesman can see how they look and then they realize they are on camera).

I answer the door and answer most questions honestly, I would let them know I am in the IT industry, If I open the door they can see my TV and most likely a laptop on the living room table, getting in to get it is another story. I also have sound gates around my property so the kids cannot leave with my wife or I knowing, also I can know when someone is making there way to the door.

Now with all that said, none of the equipment I have can stop someone from walking up to my house with a gun, kicking in the door and demanding money or goods;

It must be horrible to continually answer your door with a gun, and you should think about moving to a safer neighborhood where salesman/carpet cleaners etc. are honest businessman just trying to make a living ;-)

regards,
I wish the world was as you see it. I don't live in a bad neighborhood, actualy a mid-upper income level home, that is why the fishers come here! Poor poeple round here don't just rob the other poor poeple they come to our neighborhoods and fish. Maybe I am over protective! I have an alarm on my house also, and I get a visitor to my house that I don't know about 2 maybe three times a year. You can also put up a no solicitors sign and that helps ALOT. No worries, Just be careful and mindful when poeple that come to your door start asking you "inocent" questions. Just be mindful of what info you give them, criminals are very smart! Be safe!

Edit: Meth teeth on a carpet cleaning person or mag sals person is a dead giveaway! LOL ;)

I'm gonna do this soon! I want the cameras on the outside so people can see! Even if they know you are growing they will hit an easier target! If you have security like that on the outside you're bound to have firepower inside! At least that is what I would think and I would move on to the next easier target! I put the security sighn in the lawn and all that shit! I want people to know that comming in here is a BAD idea! I also carry my guns out to my cars on my shoulder! LOL assault rifles and all when I am going shooting! Best way is prevention, don't tell anyone! Back to the original topic! LOL

I wish i lived in your state. I live in an anti-gun liberal state. I could never carry my stuff on my shoulder, even in my own yard or driveway, or swat would show up!

I have been meaning to put up cameras for years. They not only protect you from thieves, but they protect you from 4th amendment violations. I want a big fucking sticker on my front door that says "By remaining on this property, you consent to being video and audio recorded"

Hell yeah! Nothing says fuck you like a Colt AR-15 on one sholder and a Norinco SKS on the other! ;) Cameras are a good way to keep even the most honest people honest!

cameras and security systems will not do much good for people not growing legally :eyesmoke:

you can't take the video down to the police department and say Hey... this person ripped off my grow

or have a cop(s) show up because your alarm went off

As for loose lips... That's the number one reason why people get busted/robbed. They're all excited to be growing and it's "cool" so they tell a buddy who tells a buddy who tells a buddy who tells a guy that isn't friends with subject A and maybe just so happens to get caught up in a mess with the law or needs some extra $$$ and decides to say "Hey.. I know this guy..."

I've seen guys spend $$$$ to make their grow rooms discreet, And then go tell a bunch of their friends they're growing. :dunce:

it just depends on who you tell and who the people around u really are. i only mess with real cats who do the same thing i do. we are all legal growers, we are all family men and women, we all have the same concerns for safety and we all respect the privacy of eachothers operations. gotta be grown about this shit. i cant speak for other states but in ca if youre not legal its not very smart to be growing at all and then go telling people youre doin it. its not the police you have to worry about

Wrong, my mom and my girl know of course my mom isnt telling anybody. nor my sis, bro, or girl who started growing with me but doesnt smoke anymore, but she lives here so y would she tell? but i have slipped up n let someone know and was subsequently robbed two months later.
She would tell because that is just the nature of people. Leak some bullshit into a group of friends some time and see how long it takes to get back to you. Start off your story with a disclaimer that is sooo important no one else finds out.

I bet between your mother, sis, bro and partner they have told at least 10 people at least in some small conversation. I would guess more.

I suppose it is a little bit asshole like to tell someone their family talks... but... I'm just lining up a stranger with the norm or average. If you are that rare exception, nice.

Coworkers, friends, partners, the people you tell most likely will spend time around other folks and bring it up at some point. Especially if they always seem to have the best weed that stands out from the commercial everyone has. Bro wants to impress someone. so on.

Only surrounding yourself with folks who do not cause trouble is more important than not telling a few friends... imo.

Police need a primary ground and at least one secondary to obtain a warrant for your house (I'm only talking in Canada here) The most common primary reason given is a sworn affidavit from an informant that has actually seen your grow. Not someone that has just been to your house to have a couple beers or something.

Ok but yeah people lie

A few years back someone told the police I was an arms dealer that I had guns at my house that we made and sold guns

They seamed really pissed when all they found was some airgun`s that could barely do any damage and were legal they seamed almost upset they had to take away my mum`s small stash of weed as well I think they even left her a small bud in her bag at home so she could have a Joint when she got out of the station lol

and look at the quote
Arriving detectives discovered two active grow rooms in the residence containing a 48 plants. These plants, at full potential, have the ability to produce up to 96 pounds of marijuana for sale and distribution each year. This would yield a street value of $86,400.
2 lbs a plant, sold at $900/lb :wall:
