Cali Connection - LA Affie and Chem 91 grow

OK as promised I am going to detail my experience with Cali Connection's LA Affie and Chem 91.

I ordered these from Attitude. Paid for the LA and got the Chem 91 as a bonus freebie.

I have to say, we are off to a bad start. 3/6 of the LA Affie beans were crushed or cracked. The first one I could tell was crushed before I even opened the pack, so I threw it in the toilet. I then picked up the rest of them to inspect. Part of the shell fell off one of them when I picked it up, and the other one I noticed was cracked when I tried a pinch test. Here's pics of what I got, minus the one I threw away.



The Chem 91 were freebies so I can't really complain too much, but 2 out of 10 were premature and did not pass the pinch test.



But, there are still 8 to work with which should be plenty.

So that's where things are at. I would suggest to anyone who has ordered the LA Affie to open the pack and inspect their seeds if they have not already done so. I read from another user here who had the same issue as me.

I really do hope Swerve comes in and makes this right. I've contacted him via pm and have yet to get a response. I did mention my issue in another thread and he posted there and mentioned he's at the cup. So apparently he's busy at the moment. I guess we'll see what happens. I do plan to keep everyone updated throughout this thread on what comes of this situation, and whether there is any customer service to speak of with this company.

Attitude Seedbank wants me to send these beans back if I want compensation. It's not worth the hassle or the risk of sending beans in the mail. But now I know if I order there again and there is an issue, I'm pretty much gonna take it in the rear-end. There are many things I like about The Attitude. This is not one of them.

Beans are being put in paper towels tonight. Let's hope things take a turn for the better.

Sub up mine are in the mail :/ i got the chem 91 with 818 headband and all is good with those.
but dam thats some bad luck! Hope mine are ok and yours get replaced.

Welcome to the show brother!

I'm not sweating it too much. I got sooo many more beans to work with it's ridiculous hehe. This thread is more about me lookin' out for the community and helping some interested people decide if these are the right beans and company for them or not.

I will be giving a straightforward and up close view of these guys and gals. Hoping to get a nice stud to work with to hit up my ChemD, ECSD, and Pre 98 Bubba cuts with.

I will certainly hope for the best, but I have to say up front that there is a LOT of competition in my garden. This past year I've gone through 150+ beans and am still sorting out my keepers from the garbage as we speak. And there are several very nice ladies I'll be holding on to for a bit. I have no problems saying if a strain is garbage and will not hesitate to do so, nor will I hesitate with praise if dankness reveals itself.

These will be grown in coco, hand watered with Grateful Head's coco recipe, with a bare bulb vert setup.

Gonna be a fun ride so grab some popcorn and enjoy the show.

dam considering we put them in crush proof containers what the hell happened to those... and im not sure why u make it seem like this was done on purpose when it was clearly due to shipping..

so you can get the seeds back from the people you purchased it from but instead i have to make it right when the retailer is offering to make it right...

so instead you create posts and threads to essentially talk nonsense about me and my company when all you had to do was send the seeds back to attitude the place u bought then from and bam new seeds...

so id suggest doing what they asked as thats the way to get the replacements from attitude not and not from me especially like this as well as telling everyone they will replace the seeds if u send em back but thats not to your liking...

cuz i have the same type of replacement policy we need the seeds and packaging sent back to us for replacement.

Then those same people come back and say how you lied and ignored them, or you say you're having trouble with emails. Bullshit. Gotta hustle, right? Like you're on the streets. Gotta be shady too. i ordered tha LA Affie and got 4 pre mature seeds that didnt germ , only 2 were mature and popped.
Thats realy sucks...
mayb i had a bad luck i dont know ... first time i tryed cali connection beans...I hope next time it will be a better experience

Thanks for posting the pics. Looking forward to watching your grow.

Here’s a couple pics of my bunk Cali Connection Affie seeds. Four out of the six were damaged or cracked but I could only get halfway decent pics on two of these tiny seeds. The other two have cracks in the shells which are visible to me using a scope but I couldn’t get the pics to show it very well. Also only three out of the six were dark in color. The other three have coloring like the second seed pic.

The damage shown is straight out of the pack. They were gently handled and I haven’t attempted any squeeze tests as MB mentioned.


Seed 1 - This one has a chunk down to the meat missing.


Seed 2 – It’s hard to tell by the pic but its missing a good portion of the hard shell but not into the meat.


The damage is not shipping related and only points to lack of quality control. I don’t know if these seeds were just rush to market or if it’s normal for breeders not to check their seeds before sending them off for sale. I never had a problem like this from the ½ doz other breeders/seed companies I have used so far.

I also echo the advice to check your seeds for damage if you bought the Affie.

Sub'd. Can't wait to see both these strains in action. Hellraiser, I just harvested some 818, holy fuck bro!! getting ready to do a run in bucket system.

As a rollitup member and a grower, I came to the conclusion that swerve has excellent strains, and terrible customer service. Some will argue with either or both points, that is just my conclusion. I would guess I have 50 Attitude orders easy, when I have a problem they still tell me to go get fucked. I still use them. Sea of Seeds is so much better with customer service. I cannot voice that enough. You only find this shit out by having problems right? Sea of Seeds slaps a big fat mushroom stamp on Attitudes forehead in that dept, no question.

Yelling at swerve for crushed seeds, when he does have some of the best breeder packaging is like yelling at Attitude cuz USPS has your order at a sorting facility for 2 weeks. If your fem seeds have balls all over them, that probably isn't the mail mans fault though.

Sure would be cool to peek ahead and know if this is going to be a killer journal, or a PR disaster for swerve. lmao. I am hoping for killer journal, but better believe I'm sub'd!

So it's 'clearly' due to shipping? How's that? The package and cases for each pack of seeds are not damaged. Did the 2 premature chem 91 seeds somehow become premature during shipping?

I ordered 2 packs of Bodhi seeds along with these that came in just regular baggies. There's no problem with those. I also had these sent to me wrapped in a t-shirt so there was lots of padding.

Right so I've created this thread to talk nonsense about Swerve and Cali Connection.

Nonsense.... like I think there is a quality control issue considering whomever packaged your seeds somehow missed 2 very obvious premature seeds, and 3 cracked ones.

Nonsense.... like there is a lack of customer service and all anyone has to do is read this thread to see you putting blame on the postal service, the customer, anyone but you and your company.

So you're saying there is no sense to my logic here? It seems very logical to me, and so does creating a thread detailing my experience for all to see. We are well beyond me attempting to get replacement seeds here Swerve. I don't want them anymore. This is bigger than that now.

You put a lot of effort on the front end of your company with lots of advertising and hype and you completely ignore the back end. That is going to catch up to you holmes. If you can't or don't have time to make sure your customers stay happy and are satisfied, I would suggest perhaps hiring someone who can do that for you. Whatever you pay them it will be less than all the money you're going to lose from displays like this one. People talk. Especially when they feel they've been wronged.

You could have come in here and been cool and helpful and then everyone would respect you a little bit more. Like I said bro you're sinking your own ship here.

The retailer has NOT offered to make it right. They told me to send the package back in their UNOPENED containers and they will see what they can do. Well, damn I opened my containers so now what? I guess I'm SOL. No, I'll cut my losses and see if I can turn shit into roses.

I wish there were more threads like this I had read before placing my order, because I would have chosen not to support you and your company. I can now see why so many people hate on you on all the other sites. Take some responsibility man this is a problem on your end.

However, this thread may still yet take a turn in your favor, if your beans have the fire in them. If that's the case, then perhaps whomever reads this thread will grab your gear despite the downsides and risks of ordering your stuff, because the pot is good. Either way this thread shall continue, because the people deserve to know.

And here is the first bit of evidence of that:

One of the damaged LA Affie seeds, although the skin flaked off of it, still appeared to be in tact underneath and still passed a very light pinch test, and so I decided to throw it into a paper towel last night along with the others.

Well lookie what we have here...



Damaged, but not dead.

So it appears we may have 4 LA Affies afterall. It appears things may already be taking a turn for the better.

I have had a problem with some Tahoe seeds in the past and Swerve did replace them and sent my a few extra packs!! So he does make things right , but you have to be mature about ,you shouldn't start a thread bashing someone if attitude said they would replace them .

Damn that sucks bro ( yeah I have been waiting for seeds for winning flower pic of the month for 6 months now), but maybe it will work out like mine did last year with the Tahoe seeds, he told me he was sending some out 3-4 months nothing I counted them as a loss then one day in the mail 5 packs of seeds!
