And finally, the official website! www.GanjaGauntlet.tk
It doesn't sound nearly as much fun as a taste test.Both. Thats a flexible deadline though I probably shouldn't have even posted one yet but I wanted to get something out there.
Im sorry Berkman but for now I am moving forward with the idea of having the cup be based only on the lab results and not having a actual event or taste test. Someday I want to pursue the idea of having a SD cannabis cup but first I want to start with this, I hope you will still want to participate but if not I understand.
I know doesnt... the tast test was the inspiration for the whole idea, but I just dont know if I can get over the hurdle of finding a location for a 50 person smoke out. It cant happen at my house, and a public place would be a bit scetch. The instant I find a viable venue I will pursue hosting a San Diego Cannabis Cup but I dont want the entire idea to stall out until thenIt doesn't sound nearly as much fun as a taste test.
Good points. I still think that the whole allure of this competition is for judges to judge based on their personal preference not the results of a lab test. Even though the lab test is more scientific it really takes all the fun out of it, not to mention the social aspect of the competition will be negated to merely conversing on message boards. That is no fun at all. A lab test can't really account for taste, smell, or type of high and I think that those 3 criteria are more important than THC, CBD, or CBN content.I know doesnt... the tast test was the inspiration for the whole idea, but I just dont know if I can get over the hurdle of finding a location for a 50 person smoke out. The long distance model has its benefits also. For one the whole event will be cheaper and therefor more accessible to more growers. There will be no need to provide enough cannabis to smoke out 50 people (only 4 grams needed for lab tests), and if I can get a Lab to sponsor us the entree fee could be as low as $50. With the low entree fee and the breakdown of geographic bearers it will become possible for way more strains from way more places to be showcased by this event!
As far as I know there is no existing cannabis competition like this and I think that it has potential to become a cool thing. For the first time ever, anyone on RIU or GrassCity or wherever can compete with their peers and be recognized for their efforts. At first I was disappointed by the switch but now I am excited
This was a "Event planning" thread, now that the idea has solidified and I have logo/website I think i should make a new thread about the event rather then for planning it. I will definitely link to it from here if I do that
