BARROW, Alaska - North Slope Borough police officers have seized about $150,000 of marijuana being shipped by one Barrow resident to another via Anchorage.

Police in a release say they seized the 5-pound package of marijuana Tuesday as part of an ongoing investigation into the transport of illegal drugs and alcohol to borough communities.

The names of the people involved are being withheld until a grand jury convenes. No charges have been filed.

idk man, shit in alaska is fucking expensive.. i've seen gallons of milk cost like $60 or so on that tv show alskan air or w/e the fuck it's called.. i wouldn't be blown away to find out that weed costs that much up there honestly..

i do realize that every bust is always super inflated when they give street values though.. it's just an attempt to make it look like some huge ass bust and that the cops are doing a great job.. :D

Here in town weed goes for about $1000 a QP or 280 to 320 a oz street dealers gram and 1/8th that to about 400 to 450.
I've lived in bush Alaska and milk goes for like $16 a gallon but no weed is going for over $1800 a oz on Earth that I no of.

In barrow, a 2.0/g bag runs 100 bucks. So, their 150k is 5lbs of 2.0/g bags (street price)? 2240g / 2.0 = 1120 bags. 1120 x 100 = $112,000

Their numbers are complete bullshit lol.

1000/qp is about right depending on who you know. 280-320? that's not the homie hookup but that is an accurate price as well.

Some of the comments under the local news article are spot on. Calling that number out as laughable, outrageous. Bush AK has a high cost of living but c'mon. Leave it to the narcs to think they found the priceless holy grail.

Its an easy 100 for 1/2 an eighth.Shit a 80 oxy goes for 450 bucks.Life in the bush is spendy.In general a bag is 40 bucks in the city.Price has been the same for ever.To bad the "bags" are 2.8 now if you are lucky
