looking for experienced bho people

I've got some buds laying around for a couple months from a bad batch (a gift from a friend who had a bad harvest) that I'm not going to release to my patients. They have just been sitting there.

I was wondering if these buds can be used to get decent oil? Was wondering if butane leeches the unflushed nutes from the flowers and if it would make the oil harsh? If anyone have personal experience from this please let me know thanks! just wanna get some input before I waste time extracting and purging this stuff.

If you got low grade starting material then you are most likely to yield low grade oil. When you say it's a bad batch what exactly do you mean?

Yup. You get out what you put in. i'd suggest maybe running a couple of cans just for shits and giggles, but making some bubble hash from the rest, or even easier yet, dry ice hash. Super easy. You can do a lot with the keif dry ice hash, like make coconut canna-caps, recipe in the cooking section. They are fantastic.

it isnt low grade material, the stuff is coated in trichs, but my buddy didn't flush these buds so they smoke pretty harsh. was hoping I could purge them with butane and leave the nutrients behind in the extractor.

the buds I want to use to make oil were never flushed properly and are full of nutes. if I decide to extract these buds, will the nute taste transfer to the oil?

I thought it was. You can and should make bho. How much harshness will be taken, you will have to let us know. I think flavors are enhanced, not necessarily filtered out. It's your best bet, IMO.

Its a cold extraction. The trichromes/crystals freeze and break off, from the cold butane. The reason you use the butane is for snapping the trichs off. Once you purge it there is only trich. left. "So whipped it up!"

You flush plants if people are smoking the raw buds. Trichromes don't up take nutes. only the plant. So when you burn a bud your only getting high off like 2 to 26 percent of what your inhaling. The reason for flushing is so you have a nice smooth taste and smoke experience of the other 98/74 % of raw plant material or the portion of bud you smoke that has no psychoactive effect/ the part that doesn't get you stoned!
