Marbles in a bong

Hey all

I was wondering if anyone else had tried this, I saw the diffusing balls and thought to myself why spend the money on that when you can buy a huge bag or marbles for the same cost.

I can report happily that added to a bong with water it does diffuse the smoke really nicely, have had absolute no coughing even when packing it.

Anyone else tried this or other items in the bong to diffuse?

Honestly the marbles would be pretty, add weight, but doubt much benefit even if the smoke has to negotiate a marble obstacle course.

Not many a handful should work.

They actually organize themselves in such a way there is no rattle or roll of the marbles and it creates channels for the smoke to travel through.

Yeah that doesn't sound too good. I'm pretty sure if it doesn't break the bong the first couple of times, eventually it would crack it. Plus as someone said now you gotta clean the marbles too(even if you're using iso and salt, its still a bitch, to me at atleast). Doesn't seem like it's worth the risk or effort.
