6 days without watering solution

Hey guys. I am a new grower. Growing some black widow in 3 gal bags about 4 weeks veg. So I will be going on vacation for 6 days. Will the plants be O.K. without water for that long? I mean I am sure that they will wilt some, but will it cause any serious damage? Should I flip to 12/12 to reduce the heat in the room or what?

By the way I cannot have anyone come over to water them.

Water bottles with pin hole so slow drips for first 48hours.

Or better yet buy cheap 3 dollar submergable pump from eBay, you will be dropping this inside a bucket with enough water for enough plants that you have. Then get enough splitters probably 1/4 tubing for the pump and get enough ends into the plants base. So that the ends of the pump are sticking above the soil of each plant.

Then with a digital christmas tree timer set the day you would like that pump to go on and boom, the plants will drip water out until empty and can set the timer to go off once you determine the proper time that you need.

Wit this setup I can have plants going for two weeks. However I am adding a computer and 2 cameras wit a 110v relay switch to the computer so I can water on control over the net by checking cameras and taking control of computer remotely to water ;)

Hmm maybe Ill draw one. I took down my previous setup, however here in about 2 weeks when Christmas comes and I am on vacation I will take picture of the camera setup w/relays.

But the bucket timer way I will try to explain better:
  1. Lets say you have 3 plants in 5 gal pots each, I know that these plants will need 1 gal liquid each
  2. So I fill a 5gal bucket with 3 gallons of liquid (water or nutrients) and drop submergable pump into bucket
  3. From that pump out of the bucket is a splitter either 2 and a second 2 splitter or a 3 way splitter
  4. From that splitter there are tubes 1/4 in. (since my pump is 1/4 outlet) to each plant
  5. The submergable pump is on a timer. You can then set the pump to whatever day and voila 3 pots all getting a gallon each :)

If you do not care about the pump's life then dont worry about shutting it off...it will probably run dry and not work anymore. If you can set a off time for the pump probably only minutes after the pump goes on.

You could just put them in bigger bags and soak them before leaving. They'd probably last 10 days in 5 gallon bags.

They should be ok, give them a watering before you go.

A few other things you could possibly use are
-Placing 1-2" of hydroton on the top of the medium(slows down evaporation from the medium and not for hydro obviously)
-Water crystals; they are the balls/whatever shape you place in water and the crystals absorb water and release them when the medium is dry. If you want to try this i suggest placing them on top of your medium and covering with 1-2" of addiditional medium.
-Since your plants are in veg, you can also trim the fingers of fan leaves in half as you would with clones. Yes, it will slow growth for a short while, but it also means that water loss thru the stomata is reduced.
-Don't flip to 12/12, you can reduce your lighting by a couple of hours though, i think the lowest would be 14/8 as I've been told that anything under 13.30 hrs of light causes flowering.

Good luck! :weed:
