so 1 person deals with spammers? not enough in my 2¢. need to let the MODS have more controll. Racer i respect you you..i have seen 100 of your posts and never disagree with you!!

point is if theres so many mods out there...why are the spammers here even an hour after i report them?

I know i guys do what you gotta do but i think priviliges need to be uped and selection needs to be downed....

each mod is assigned one section m8.. like i have the seed bank review sectoin, i think cannabineer is a mod of the tnt section, although there are several mods for tnt as that is a huge section and a shit ton of responsibility for one mod imo..
each mod can do what is called a soft delete for any threads in their own sections.. what this means is that the threads will no longer be visible to non mods of the site, but in actuality, the threads are still there until a global mod like chiceh or potroast comes in behind us and hard deletes the threads so they're no longer visable to any member of the site..

global's can also obviously edit or delete threads in any section ... they're not confined to one area like the rest of us.. i think it was broken down more into sections as to give less work to any one mod.. for years and years it was basically fdd2black and potroast and chiceh who were the mods for the entire forum, and they found out over time that was just way too much work to ask of any one person to do ...

If I had to opine on why this capacity is limited to admin and globals ... there must be a skilled and nonobvious thing to do, like add the spammers to a database involving IP addresses. This is sorcery behind the curtain from my perspective, and I'll leave that to them. cn

yes, i'm sure that they're given access to certain parts of the site that they're simply not wiling to hand out to anyone and only give those powers to the people who have demonstrated that they can use them wisely... kind of like the force, don't need anyone going over to the dark side no do we?? lol.. :D

No worries. I'd have been a bit uneasy about modding TnT. I respect the folks minding it, and would dislike the implication, however faint, that they're not on top of it. Politics has pretty awesome established mods, I find, and I'm quite delighted that they've given me a real welcome.

I have noticed that when I'm in Politics, my mindset has changed. I am somewhat more serious, and I am much less prone to fire a tease at one of the resident curmudgeons. I feel that I represent the site now, and that stays my hand from posting the really fluffy stuff. In time, I might find a more relaxed equilibrium ... but for now I approach it from the side of caution. cn
