That place I mentioned above uses Hplc
well... that's not totally true.. go look at their website results you'll see over 20 percent.. but that begs the question.. are they inflating the results... ? i had some of mine tested and it was over 20... i was convinced they inflated even...FWIW most of these companies are rolling with GC tests, and don't have nearly the accuracy that an HPLC does for instance. I know someone that runs an HPLC and they have literally only seen one or two strains in thousands that break the 20 % mark.
Same as they're using here.Anyone know what technology they use in cali to do this kind of stuff?
I pay $40 per test at Iron Labs.Curious, how much is a lab test?
Iron labs was on High Noon radio yesterday and they did a decent job of explaining their role and knowledge a bitHuel's got me sold on Iron Labs, I will be dropping them off a Fat Purple chunk once it's finished. After checking them out and there methods I'm thinking there pretty much on point. They don't seem to have any agenda as they do testing for many different markets not just MJ.
Well if you take the genetics of known strains Blue Dream, NYCD, Orange Bud, etc. and map and store all of the data then when you send them a sample they can verify if its really Blue Dream, NYCD, etc. They may also be able to tell you what the true parents of the cross were. What I imagine is a scenario where some soccer mom with cancer is buying from some middle man who called the bud "The Bomb Diggity" and sending in a sample to find out it was "Chemdawg". Or a dispensary who wants to verify what they are selling is actually what it is supposed to be.I ran across EmeraldTriangleBuds.com and they are talking about "genetic testing", although I don't quite get it
Any thoughts?
There is no doubt that genome mapping is needed in cannabis, but I do not see how this private data base of simple matches is to accomplish that. I see this type of "DNA testing" as the kind you find on Maury Povich to determine a probability of a father from a know pool of donors. We learn very little about a mother and father here, other than a probable match.
Hmmm....I have given them full nugs so far. Maybe a grind will be the way to go this time-it'll make my picture look stupid on the microscopic exam/picture but who cares. Might be a way to avoid being called out on your moldy pot (if that's how you roll, I do not roll that way). I might have to add that to the matrix when I put it together. this is test protocol is going to cost some cheese!Back to labs testin our gear? C&T ever grind your samples up? One bud ground up should test very similar, IMHO
