I'm a new grower. This is my first harvest that I've done from seed to finish. I got my seeds from nirvana. I got there package deal with five fem wonder woman's and five fem Venus fly trap plus there grow kit. The grow kit contained germination kit, flower tabs and solitabs. I planted all 10seeds in the germination kit and they're under a 600w hps@ 50% in a container I've covered with clear wrap and are in a 4x4 tent. My question is that am I in trouble if I didn't put any soil over the seeds after I put them it the pre made holes in the germination kit. I covered the seeds but with the soil from the germination kit. The reason I ask is that a few of them look ok but a few look really skinny and are grow ing in weird directions they look like roots growing up. The few that look ok are starting to have leaves but even they look a little strange. Please any advise would greatly appreciated!!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!

idk, got any pictures? you need to flick a little soil over the seeds when you plant them after germinating. did you germinate them or just stick them in the kit? never seen the kit, sorry :eyesmoke:

They're growing in all different directions because the stems are weak and stretching.
Get your lights closer and put a fan on them.
Also, take a little soil and cover some of the stem if you can, to help support them.

Thanks for the feedback. I lowered my light and put some soil around the stem. I was also wondering if I should put them straight in the three gallon pots I have or put them in something smaller first. Suggestions?

definitely smaller, this gives the roots better time to grow, i went straight to 3 gallon and it takes forever for the "plant" to grow as it is spending most of it's time and energy developing roots :eyesmoke:

Agreed, and with the smaller container, it's easier for us with less experience to control the watering so that the roots develop properly.

i was so bad about watering i thought i need to measure out each time like 25 mls of water. now i pick it up and if it's light, it gets watered :eyesmoke:

Wouldn't you suggest measuring out when feeding? I do every time and PH right B4 I feed my girls, I have noticed in MY grow room I start having troubles when I get willy nilly with my waterings, and feedings. JMHO:peace:

Personally, I don't, simply because I don't always water when I should.
Sometimes I pick up my pot, and it feels ok, then I might check it again a few hours later and it's light (This usually happens right after lights on), but other times, when I expect this, I can pick it up, and it will still be fine, so I'll end up going another day before watering, so I just water until I get a steady trickle of runoff.

oh absolutely when mixing i measure, but i don't measure how much each plant gets tho you know, just by weight, i try not to let the water run out :eyesmoke:
