Hey Matt,

How do you germinate? I just put a couple of seeds down today on some wet paper towel and covered them up and put them on my propogator mat(t) (pun intended)

Do you do paper towel or dunking them in water for 24 hours? any tips?
i have been trying all kinds of methods but this recent one was jiffy compressed peat planters with some soil in my propogator (100% sucess as of right now 4/4 are growing lets hope they make it through this fragile stage of life)

im actually pretty happy with the directly in soil results as i have tried every other way and this seems to be the easiest and most effective way.

as far as the bio terms i actually understood what you said!! have taken a basic biology 101 in college and we covered most of that shit, i couldnt give you the exact breakdown of the enzymes and shit but i get the drift :)

anyways as stated above my seedlings are doing well, just put 2 more up in veg cab and transplanted them. one left in propogator it has a taproot coming out about 1/8th of an inch hoping tomorow it is ready to put in new pot and veg room.

I really really really really......(need i go on) hate germinating stage as they are just so dam fragile and easily killed by either too much moisture or drying out too much, once they open up and i see that first set of ridgid leaves i know im in the clear (usually)

clones on the other hand dont seem to be doing well, checked on one today and the stem was all muchy and the clone was pretty much done. I checked on a second one and have some browning on the end of the stem where it was cut, didnt want to keep disturbing more of them. the leaves are all nice and green but thats because they are in the propogator and getting plenty of moisture through the air. I opened up the vent on the top to hopefully let a little of the moisture out...not really sure what to do here. i really want a cloning method with 100% sucess and it just seems im having a hard time finding my niche, i have tried aero, jiffy peat pucks with rooting poweder, rockwool and propogator, next stop is Poly's bubble cloner thing, already have all the materials to make at least 4 of them would be making them on a much larger scale though using 5 gal buckets.

anyways heres some pics not going to organize them

will post them in a new post

FUCK MATT!! Looks like a jungle in there lol, how many plant you got going at the moment? Looks like 6 but I might be wrong, I'm blind by all that green I see ;)
Are you still using 3g pots? as a rule of thumb? Maan they look so freaking nice. I wish I had some more space to do more then only two plants at a time.

Is your growing room split into sections? like veging section and flowering chamber and all that great shit?

Harvest time comes around I think I'll have to plan a trip your way for a bowl of your finest ;)

as of today i have 2 FCJ clones, Blue OG, WHite Lavender, Critical cush. 2 bagseed reveges and 3 bagseed seedlings in my "veg tent" which is under 36Xw of CFL

in my "flower" room (under the 1kw HPS) i have a bagseed female, blue cheese female and Fruity Chronic Juice female (the FCJ is the biggest budded plant right now)

yes my rooms are split, i have a tent for my veg and a framed out room for my flower, they are actually on different levels of the house.

if you go back a few pages pretty up to date on what i have been doing, making cloners and cloners and cloners......lol still cant get a good cloner going...

Matt, you always veg. your plants for a month? or it depends on the strain and other factors?
So how often are planning on harvesting?

i want to get my veg time down to a month eventually, many factors are involved but main one is size of plant.

would like to be pulling a plant every 2-4 weeks

Thanks man.. I did the old papertowel thing this time... I'll see how it works out.. HopefullY I don't lose any
only advice i can give for this method is give them 3-4 days if needed and let a nice long taproot grow out. I tried planting just after seed cracked and a tiny taproot was showing and got too dry and my seeds were toast, dont be too impatient like i was. if you leave them in the towel they should get a 1 inch taproot no problem, not that they need to get THAT long but just sayin

You guys always use paper towel method? I just put my seed into a shot glass then into dark oven (it's warm there from the pilot lights) till they drop to the bottom and off to the pot.
Never had a problem with germination, but then never tryed the paper towel method, to scared I'm going to mass up the tap root lol.

Yeah I think that might be a better way to go... First time I grew I think I got lucky and had all seeds germinate on me.. second time not so lucky. I've heard a lot people like the shot glass method.

Unfortunately I've got an electric oven but I've heard about doing that.. I've also heard about people pre-heating their ovens with their seeds still inside :( ouch!

I have a propogator matt so I should try that next time with a shot glass and something to cover it up (darkness)

if the seed is covered in soil it shold be in darkness...they grow toward light so its never a bad idea to have something for them to look foward to :P

gnight guys im off to bed
