i love that support system :eyesmoke:

Haha, Gorilla Tape and bee-line.

BTW smoked some of that LSD last night (the strain with the stoney support system) which has been curing for the better part of a year now. It's as good as ever; highly recommended if you ever order any Barney's Farm genetics.

a friend gave me a clone of barney's farm LSD a while back. it has slowly proven itself and earned a top 5 spot within my strain lineup. very strong high on that one.

if it were me, i would have used a u-hook instead of gorilla tape to anchor the string, but the tape did the job apparently.

Don't be too excited about barneys farm sweet tooth, pretty shitty IMO. I everntually rid my garden of all the BF sweet tooth i had.

I love it. I grew out 8-10 from seed and got what seemed to be three phenotypes. Two of them were great; some of the best bud I've smoked. The one with the bee-line support really leaned (pun intended) toward the Skunk #1 lineage. The other was really fruity and had a little bit of citrus; not really like the mazar or the skunk, if you ask me.

Also I used gorilla tape because I was growing in a nice grow-cab at the time and didn't want to damage the partition between the veg and flower chambers. A little iso took care of the sticky-ness!

Good evening sports fans, I'm sorry to have left you for so long (again) without any updates on my grow. Fear not, however; your somewhat beleaguered, usually stoned, alternately busy and lazy host has returned with some more weed-porn.

Today, for your viewing pleasure, I submit another 2 part update.

We will start with 12/16; this would be day 57 veg

One of the Barney's Farm Sweet Tooth females here; rebounded nicely after training.

Strawberry Cough Female, day 52 veg

Mystery still doing well (stay tuned on this one, exciting developments below!)

Another Strawberry Cough Female

Lemon G, nicely trained outward to the root pot

another shot of Lemon G, you can see the cords if you look closely

AK 48; flagging as usual, but healthy and stocky.. who knows about this one

Here is the Magoo female, just crushin' it

And just one of my favorite Sweet Tooths; going all 8 to the outside on this one, nicely visible in this shot

And lastly a shot of some water line (with cutoff) that has been run through the basement to just outside the flowering room.

So, on to part B.

Flowering was initiated on January 1. C02 levels are being kept at 900-1k ppm. Temperatures are between 67 (cold night) and 80-81 at the hottest point in the day. My temps were getting too out of control with just the hoods ducted, so I went ahead and chained my carbon filter to the exposed floor joist (now covered in panda wrap, of course).. here is a picture for all of us visually oriented folks:

(this picture is taken from the back of the flowering room toward the front, for reference)

This update is from today, January 12; day 12 veg. I have added 3 x 16" oscillating stand fans; I have a fourth 16" fan but didn't wall mount it today.

We will start with a group shot of the girls, front door to back.

OH SHIT! Did I forget to mention that they are ALL females? Well, yeah; BIG OLE TITTIES, THEY'RE ALL FEMALE! Of the 22 plants that made it to veg, 11 were non-feminized; 10 of those 11 plants were female, and are now on day 12 flower!

Here's the harem

Here is Mystery, still going very very strong; real excited to have a mom of this around

v25Eo.jpg

AK-48 has been doing really well; she is still smaller than the rest of the pack, but is responding nicely to the supersoil; I have not bothered with much training for her.

Zez76.jpg

White Russian is burning a little bit on the edges but is looking good overall. I'm hoping that with stable PH and some TLC over the next week, she will grow into the SS nute levels.

Lemon G here; very excited that this plant is a female. This strain was extremely popular in some parts of the midwest during the 90s and aughts; these are from bag seed of a prominent S. OH grower.

I will post an update tomorrow with shots of the 2nd generation! Thanks so much to everyone for sticking with me. I'm going to work to be a bit more diligent with my journal.. life has been crazy and will continue to be (we should all hope to be so lucky!).

Much love,
fish

Everythings lookin nice. I personally didnt like the sweet tooth too much. But it was a big yeilder, quick finisher. also the buds had a very peculiar smell to them couldnt quite place my finger on it. But the smoke was too harsh for me, probably was grower error. If you give a good flush it will probably show a more true flavor and be less harsh

I appreciate this input. Someone else was saying something similar about not liking the Sweet Tooth all that much, but in a less... constructive manner.

I went a little light on the SS this round just to make sure that my early finishers (AK48 and any unknowns; haven't grown these strains before) can flush properly. I'm going for a nice fade for everyone, so I'll probably have to do some top-dressing down the line.

Luckily, with my potential yield, I can always make full-melt or wax with the Sweet Tooth if it's mediocre. Strain specific concentrates to make edibles are also an interest for me, so I'm really looking to sample as many combinations of THC/CBN/CBD as possible and see what works well with what. I have 8 (I think), so I may very well wind up with a workable pheno, in the end; if that's the case I'll keep a couple around for variety and to swap cuts with other growers.

Stay tuned and I'll keep you posted.

Are you a medical grower?

  • I am; my patients are just a few friends so right now it's more fucking around than really having a quota or target to meet. I'm also a foodie and an amateur cook; I've been thinking about getting a kitchen and an MIP license (allows you to manufacture and wholesale edibles and concentrates) next year, but the up-front costs of expanding my operation to commercial size are pretty... hefty.

Best part is I'm 100% legal!
