So according to your "Opinion"? LOL your opinion isn't worth jack squat. Good to know you can accept being wrong.you say as much here.
This is something that bothers me, not because I don't think you can do it, but because you haven't even thought this through at all. Do you really expect to be able to buy 10 acres then a year later or whenever it suits you buy an adjacent 1,000 acres?? You gonna force people to sell you land now? You gonna buy land and then contract with the locals to buy their land whenever you want?we'll be starting off with less acreage and decide later if we want to go to large scale farming.
it's called moving. i don't buy my neighbor's house if i want a bigger house. This is something that bothers me, not because I don't think you can do it, but because you haven't even thought this through at all. LOL delusions guiding the delusional.
Farms have a very hard time of expanding from small to large, mostly due to the fact that land is in short supply as they aren't making anymore of it.
Good Luck with your "plans" UB, just don't be disappointed when no one will sell you their land when you want to upgrade.
ORLY?it's called moving. i don't buy my neighbor's house if i want a bigger house.
these are facts of which i was unaware.ORLY?
Were you aware that not all land is the same. What you found easy to grow on your 10 acres may not even sprout in whatever place you move to. Its not like there is land for sale in every size and shape wherever you want to go.
Small used tractor with no amenities other than a seat---$5000that shit is expensive.
The harvester? Those are the expensive ones, no? cnSmall used tractor with no amenities other than a seat---$5000
Old school disk Plow----$1200
18 hour days of hard labor 6 days a week for 8 months out of the year----Priceless
Albertan's are biased against all sorts, never underestimate a Canadian.
$200,000 for the nicer ones. The harvester? Those are the expensive ones, no? cn
Farming is hard, my most hated part is dealing with the government and all the shit they got their hands into. I think anyone who does what I do has a very poor view of government controls. Unfortunately we are a dying breed.Have you read FARM by Richard Rhodes? You might like it. cn
Bucky is never going to become a farmer, it requires real work and dedication and the ability to wake up really early. Buck has an aversion to actual labor and waking before noon.Isn't Bucky in Oregon? Dont' think you can just buy small parcels of land there can you? Thought you had to buy some 200-300 acres at a time in most of that state unless it was zoned residential.
Farming is indeed hard, but I miss being a part of a full time operation more than anything these days. This couple acre gig I got going now just leaves me wishing I was still working side by side with Dad.
there are plenty of small farms around here. head to the eastern part of the state though, and you got it right.Isn't Bucky in Oregon? dude, i used to wake up at 3:45am to get to work by 4am. nowadays, 4am is my bedtime.Bucky is never going to become a farmer, it requires real work and dedication and the ability to wake up really early. Buck has an aversion to actual labor and waking before noon.
and don't try to act like the type of farming you do is much more than setting the GPS on your tractor.
woops, i forgot the part where you check the mailbox for your government issued welfare check.LOl well one thing is for certain, you will never become a farmer if you think that's all there is to it. You can try try try, but in the end you will still be a total failure, why even try?
You can be the "farmer" who leases his land to someone like me and go to work in town where you belong.woops, i forgot the part where you check the mailbox for your government issued welfare check.
