k he did not ask you this question, thats turning your lights off 2-3days before HARVEST.

Turning your lights off for 72hours to figure out the sex is what he asked.
I've never done this but im curious to whether it works or not, it sounds like it could work, try it out because i might aswell the more people who test it the better.

Hey, I was reading something about this, I believe it was over at hightimes, the article suggested turning off the lights for (from memory) 48 hours, than switching to 12/12 and the article went on to say that you'll be amazed at the head start in flowering that this gives you. I have not tried it either, but I may try it this time around. I hope this helps.
Peace

So I was checking this video out cuz it's of the strain I'm growing and I caught something interesting. He mentions the plants shift from veg into flowering, and says that by turning off the lights for 72hrs, you will induce flowering faster. Anyone do this with their grows, I'm curious as to how quickly they start to show sex if you do this.

GraF, have you actually experimented with more than 24 hours dark? I have heard 72 as well, from a few people. It may very well be that 24 is the most effecient dark period to start flowering, but I'm not quite convinced.

Has anybody done a controlled sort of test of this?
