I see you have proven once again that the bulb does not burn too bright by bringing our attention to FEDERAL gun laws. It says so right at the top. Now does anyone understand that federal laws are separate from State laws??? Do you???

You just proved yourself wrong. 22 states remove weapons in protection order situations. 22 is less than 26.

Stupid, but honest. you deserve my respect.

more than 26 prohibit ownership
so technically if you possess you are in violation of the law
think of it as self deportation of your firearms
and under the Lautenberg amendment if you are found guilty of even misdemeanor domestic violence you lose your right to bear arms
Forever

I think this is a stupid idea. If you are going to have a gun for protection, it can't be in pieces. People need to protect themselves in their home. But they need to be responsible in how to store or hide the gun. I don't have a gun I have a pakistany knife. Need some chinese stars lol.

Peace

Some guns have locks on themselves. Some of the newer J frame S&W revolvers do.
My Remington 30-06 has one built into the safety, its also hard to load and chamber for a young child and when they're big enough to do so they probably already know where the key is.

That's why the weapon you're currently "using" (and which is out of its safe) should be the one with the trigger guard when it's not directly on your person.

When you need it, it's just a quick turn of a key (which only you have...around your neck).

I was just replying to safety in general a 30-06 would make a piss poor home defense weapon. I may have been a nosy kid but I pretty much knew where everything was and how to get into everything I shouldn't by the age of 12. We tend to underestimate children when we get older and I think that in itself what causes the majority of accidents.

If you've a trigger lock on the gun and the key lives around your neck...where is the risk to your children?

Its the same as your car keys, you have to know where they are so the little fuckers don't decide to start it (when it's in gear).
