Bottom line is you can enhance a plants natural flavors with proper grow conditions. But you cannot physically alter a plants flavor by pouring a flavoring agent into the root zone.
Grow in near perfect conditions is the key.I'd be interested in hearing more in depth alexander if your keen on explaining to me how i can ensure she is producing copious amounts of sugars!
Keep it green, healthy and thriving from start too finish. Keep them on a complete and balanced diet. And then just let the genetics do the rest.......I'd be interested in hearing more in depth alexander if your keen on explaining to me how i can ensure she is producing copious amounts of sugars!
Yes, all organic. Ive tried it.. And Im knocking it. I produce high quality smoke with great taste and smell.kgp, you seem like an organic gardener. am i correct in my assumption? I know from personal experiences that when I run my synthetic line-up of nutrients hydroponically, there are most definitely products that enhance both flavor, smell, and overall yield. Some (most) don't work, and some do. Particularly botanicares original berry sweet. I have been a skeptic in the past, and this stuff most definitely added a berry/sweet undertone throughout all strains it was used on. Used it on my last run, and will continue to for years to come. Don't knock it til' you try it.
Exactly.i doubt weed can absorb any kind of carbohydrates... but molasses do help beneficial microbes grow, and they will in turn help your plants uptake more nutrients.
CorrectIts science. But its the plants grown under the best conditions that have the highest sugar content. Sugar content the plant created itself, not sugar taken up by the roots.
Many will argue but this is what I agree on too. I put shit in my soil that smells like ass. But my buds smell wonderful.Bottom line is you can enhance a plants natural flavors with proper grow conditions. A plant can only uptake about 16 elements...There most certainly are additives that are not just NPK that do actually do something to plants.
Some do drastic things, like PGR's, for example.
And sure, all a plant needs is NPK, but why not give the plant more than it needs so it can grow better than just the bare minimum...
PGR sure do things to the plant. Do the need them? No. Are they healthy for you? Do they contain carcinogens that are band on food crops? Yes. Do what you like, I'm gonna do what I like. There most certainly are additives that are not just NPK that do actually do something to plants.

Sure if he soil is rich in nutrients throw it in the dirt. I have seen monster plants grown this way. I can look out mu window and see trees that are 40 foot tall grown this way. Mother nature is a mother fucker. In fact, why are you helping the plant at all?
Just throw it in the dirt outside and forget about it. That's "all the plant needs", right?

I agree with you on that.Misconceptions and ignorance, keep that mind closed!
Your not saying Im wrong, just ignorant? OK, thanks for the compliment. I ammend with many organic matter, and yes alphalpha. Can you grow bigger buds than me? Probably. I choose to stay away from synthetics for my own reasons. I agree that many thing will make a plant bigger, but better is a opinion. I said all a plant needs is NPK, and that it doesnt care if its cheap, or from an expensive bottle. When you said PGR's I figured you were talking about gravity and bushmaster products. I was hitting on the topic that these plants can flourish with basic NPK, and I can get sweet tasting buds without adding any snake oils.I'm not saying you're wrong, just that saying "there's nothing that can be added other than NPK to plants to help them grow better" is wrong. I'm not even sure if you said that. Just that maybe it came off that way...
I didn't say anything like that...if anything, I said I'm ignorant for possibly misinterpreting what you said or implied....Your not saying Im wrong, just ignorant? OK, thanks for the compliment.
All plants need is npk, they do not care if its generic fertizer, or expensive brand name.
And you mentioned soil out doors, sure there is plenty of nutes in living soil. Enough to feed the giant redwood trees.
Makes sense and I think we both took eachothers posts out of context. I agree with you, and I dont think you nor I am ignorant.I didn't say anything like that...if anything, I said I'm ignorant for possibly misinterpreting what you said or implied....
This is the line I think I took out of context. You may have only been implying that for sweeteners.
I am saying that there are additives out there that are not solely NPK that definitely benefit plants.
Just because things grow in nature, doesn't mean we can't improve upon them.
We are humans, we have critical thinking skills, it's in OUR nature to observe and then improve upon the things around us.
That's survival 101.
