Did I specify a distance? cnI got that, but why the accuracy from such a distance?

Why does it become important to have "just enough"? Why not allow an ample margin? The legality of bad or dumb deeds is unaffected. cnProblem is that i am not sure anyone, governemnt or individual has the right or the knowlege to dictate how much firepoer a citizen needs. how much is just enough to defend himself from the zombie apocolypse, shoot his daughter's rapist, defeat the local militia and still have time for hunting season?
You should read all the posts instead of just assuming things. I wouldn't try to shoot a deer at more than 200 yards away. That light a weight projectile has the range you need for deer in mountainous regions of the country?
They're useless for plinking unless you're a millionaire. Yeah it useless because of ammo prices. And yeah it's accurate, but my 22's are just as if not more accurate and a shit ton cheaper to shoot. A day at the range with my boys is affordable with a 22, I work for a living.I could have sworn you said they were useless as a target gun.
Are the animals they have in Maine especially tough and bullet resistant compared to other states? or are people from Maine somehow terrible shots and its common knowledge? Not really sure why I would be a num nuts or why you would state it that way unless there is something special about Maine that I am not aware of.
And yes id rather have much bigger round to hunt black bear and moose.

I will admit they aren't as cheap as they used to be, a 1000 rounds will run you $300. But you don't need to be a millionaire to afford $300. If your target range only goes to 100 Meters I can imagine that you see little difference in accuracy, expand that distance to 300 or 400 meters and its a different story.
Who said anything about hunting black bear and moose with a .223? I would prefer either one of my .270's or one of the .308's for that duty. The .50 and the .338 lapua are a bit overkill. I like to hunt deer with the .223 because where I live you need to do a lot of walking and my Weatherby in .223 only weighs 6 pounds WITH the scope. Everything else is 8 +
I am not a hypocrite , I just wasn't born into American culturebut yet you endorse governmental gun control/banning? You sir are a hypocrite...good day
um. the .223 isnt at all bad for target shooting or hunting for that matter. i can hit quarters at 300 yards with my .223 not to mention easily kill a dear or a nice sized pig with the right weight and designed bullet. also not to mention that the hunting rounds are fabulous. just as much accuracy as match target match rounds with a shit ton more devastation in its wake. the military issue 5.56 nato round is a fmj round that our military uses. nothing more or less. i shoot them out of my .223 everyday and can hit a dime at 100 yards no problem even with the shitty bulk military surplus ammo of all kinds of bullet weights. they are in fact just as accurate and devastation for hunting and target shooting as any other small caliber rifle round in its class if not better with the right seated bullet. im in fact going to take my target .223 out to the range tomorrow now that u have brought it up. lol. sounds like a bit of fun.I know exactly what the 223 can do. Theres a reason its used, it tumbles on impact man, you know that. Its a great anti personal round. It sucks for hunting and target shooting.
I know plenty about firearms from my time in the service and as a long time gun owner. I understand the laws regarding full auto firearms. There is no need in our society to have a fully automatic firearm, hell even the "assaut" rifles like the cheap AK variants and the AR's are really not need in society. They are useless for hunting game and useless unless youre a millionaire for target shooting.
They were designed for and serve 1 purpose. Killing human beings easily and in large numbers if you got the ammo and mags.
why would u never hunt with a .223? u need something bigger? u must not be such a great shot. lol. j/k mmm. maine. the great state of nothing. lol. also j/kUseless for hunting game? I have used a .223 to bag over 15 deer over the years in 4 different states. AR type rifles are extremely popular for hunting game. The key is round placement and making sure you are within the range necessary for the initial force to knock down the animal. The .223 is a very accurate round, though the NATO 5.56 is not really meant to be especially accurate but easy to produce and able to punch through body armor and light skinned vehicles with the common penetrator rounds as opposed to the ho hum ball NATO round.
My most accurate rifle shoots 1/4" MOA and its an AR design with a Shilen barrel, in fact AR designs are very very accurate and are used extensively in competition.
I think you may have been out of the loop for quite some time.[/QUOTE
LOL numb-nuts I live in Maine.
Id never hunt w/ something that SMALL. Its accurate as hell, I know; like I stated earlier I own an AR15.
why not? lol. if i had the rifle to reach out to a mile id try it. my .308 just isnt heavy enough to reach with winds and shit. 1000 yes but it still took some practice.I got that, but why the accuracy from such a distance?
even at 300+ yards its got enough if u have a good enough shot. That light a weight projectile has the range you need for deer in mountainous regions of the country?
and by that i mean a really really good shot. lol.even at 300+ yards its got enough if u have a good enough shot.
yeah thats pretty sweet for a $8000 benchrest gun. lol. ive never enjoyed shooting from a rest. makes me feel like a vagina. but then again i guess at 2000 yards u wouldnt want any movement. i probably couldnt shoot that far without a rest but 2000 is too far for me to want to fuck with anyways. i want to touch a mile accurately then im done. looking into a .338 lapua bolt gun at the moment. just have to wait till desert seasons over so i can bring the guns out for that kinda distance.Check this specialized long-range gun. Note angle between barrel and sight.
The gun used for the first confirmed 2000 Yard Club shot was a .308. it had even more angle between sight and tube. cn
i would NEVER circumvent any laws to obtain my lower. No one is going to sell you an AR-15 lower over the internet, as soon as they see you are from Cali, forget it. The lower is the part that needs an FFL licence and all the documentation to be purchased. The trigger is the gun. The upper with just the barrel, the bolt and charging handle you can just order from whomever and no license needed they can ship it right to your door in the mail. Totally legal.
The bottom part is the scary part...oooooooooooo scccccaaaaaaarrrrrrryyyyyyy!!!!
i would. bahahahahah. lol.i would NEVER circumvent any laws to obtain my lower.
the best stuff is always illegal.i would NEVER circumvent any laws to obtain my lower.
well i would like to build mine also but its still cheaper and easier for me not to mention safer legally to buy a complete target carbine and build a nice upper with a 16 inch barrel as a spare. that way i still get the cali legal lower shit with a nice match trigger and shit with a nice 20 inch target barrel with a nice collapsible stock. that way i have a target gun and an even better ulrta atomic death capable upper for target and tactical shooting. lmao. cali sucks as far as gun laws and restrictions go. hard to tell whats legal and not anymore.Just sayin'.
i'm GOING to build my AR.
Not really much cheaper here in Cali from what i've been looking at. i could get one outta the box but am going to pay a premium for it right now. And there would be nothing about it custom or upgraded.well i would like to build mine also but its still cheaper and easier for me not to mention safer legally to buy a complete target carbine and build a nice upper with a 16 inch barrel as a spare. that way i still get the cali legal lower shit with a nice match trigger and shit with a nice 20 inch target barrel with a nice collapsible stock. that way i have a target gun and an even better ulrta atomic death capable upper for target and tactical shooting. lmao. cali sucks as far as gun laws and restrictions go. hard to tell whats legal and not anymore.
