Here it comes - gun control!!!

Hey pussy, do you know any dis-arm tactics against handgun, long gun? Are you trained in any defense arts? Of course not. Just a pussy.
I'm not the coward that sleeps with a gun under my pillow. You pansies can't even go to the mall without your security blanket strapped to your hip.

Middle aged, fat, pasty-white Americans with a sense of bravado because you have a gun telling others to "MAN UP" is laughable.

The SAFEST disarm tactic is to disable the attacker from a distance via a firearm.
No doubt, I'd rather even toss a grenade. But, remember these self defense situation are up close and personal. Self defense is about all/any weapon or none. The defense has to occur. Instant action to take the initiative. Viciousness that will alarm even a dog. (practice on the random dogs) Or deep guile and deceit. There won't be another chance.

So, I can't kill with my look or my scream in their ear, but it all helps turn the tide. And I have been able to function and not freeze in the real deal. One guy ended up with 10 years in prison for messing with us. But, it was a near run thing.

What I know now, I did have the chance the arm myself with his gun, several times. If the gun is stuck under your armpit, that the easiest. I just didn't know it, at the time.

I feel quite comfortable with my level of martial training. It's far from cowardly, to practice the martial arts. So, you are the coward, the pussy, that depends on others for your protection. You run, while I work the flank. I don't mind protecting you.

I've still yet to hear a realistic argument against proper storage laws, e.g. trigger locks and gun safes....

Torch carrier? I probably own as many, if not more guns than you and I have no intention of giving them to anyone. However, I'm not such a complete moron that I think the USA has appropriate gun laws. There is a middle ground that doesn't have to end with some silly slippery slope argument.

I don't want your guns taken away, whether they be semi-auto, bolt action, level action, pump action or single shot. I don't care.
At the same time, an unloaded, locked up gun is rather useless in, say, a home invasion situation.

Kill everything within 15m... How nice of you.

Do you hear how insane you sound? You wonder why peoploe on the extreme left want to ban all guns? It's because idiots on the far right say shockingly stupid things like this.

American Gun Deaths to Exceed Traffic Fatalities by 2015

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-12-19/american-gun-deaths-to-exceed-traffic-fatalities-by-2015.html

Interesting. Clearly the current system works perfectly.
Again, how stupid. And how challenged you are if you can only communicate with sarcasm. Highway deaths are accidents. Guns deaths, some are accidental, most are not.

So, bad science from the agenda driven press.

How many drivers do seatbelts save vs how many citizens are save by guns? You don't know. That's not part of the agenda.

Kinda funny you bring up martial arts training since i have been threatened twice now by a martial arts instructor.

MY take on it is that i KNOW he has the upper ground in a hand to hand situation. i have no doubt he would hand me my ass on a platter at very least and REALLY feel that my life would be in danger. So my legitimate responses to him taking a fighting stance or even coming at me aggressively are two. Retreat or draw and fire. In reality, there's always the third option of retreat AND fire. Regardless, that is a justified shooting. Even in California.

That's not to say that's how it would go down because i'd be willing to take a decent shot from him and then own his two dojos, car, and house ONLY if i knew i had competent backup to keep him from killing me once i went down. If it's me and him, i like my odds.

When one is in a combat situation or thinks they are, all civility tends to come to an abrupt halt.

Every fist fight i've been in, win or lose, my intent was to put the other guy in the hospital or morgue.

No, you sound insane. You twist the logic. Yes, if I intended to kill all those that are confronting me 15 m kill zone is good. If I'm in a crowded room, only the insane toss explosives. You are mixed up, because you try to swallow the idea of world peace.

Not all motor vehicle crashes are accidents. What about vehicular suicide, or vehicular homicide? You seriously expect me to believe that every single car crash in the USA is an accident? Are you that naive?

WTF are you talking about? You were talking about using a grenade in a self defense situation, on American ground. Not at war. And I'm insane?

Word peace? Now I really think you're fucking nuts, where did that come from? You pick that one out of thin air?

i'm of the opinion that guns and cars are both tools. Take guns outta the equation and don't you think intentional deaths involving vehicles will rise?

I'd find another dojo. All the dojos I've been in, the instructor makes no threats, but does deal it out to the deserving.

My daughter takes Tang Soo Do. I see all of the fat, middle aged dads in there with their red belts and black belts on.

I'm sure you'd fit right in ..... but they don't allow guns in the dojo, so you probably wouldn't feel safe.

No, we can't take either out of the equation. When I was a younger man, it was 50K deaths on the road, now in the 30K range. Seatbelts mean less fatalities. Show me anything about intentional vehicular homicide. No, I can't see any relationship there, sorry.

We base TONS of laws on "what if"....

blah blah blah
There are MILLIONS of CCW holders out there. how many innocent people got shot because of an errant bullet fired in self defense?

You talk about outlandish scenarios, yet fail to see that you are making one. When you go to the mall, there are all sorts of people with guns walking right next to you, at the gas station, all over the place. Yet you feel safe and secure don't you?

I agree, they are both tools and neither are inherently evil.

Cars require licensing and are used daily, so people are quite practiced at using them. They are a fundamental requirement of society, that's to say society would cease to exist as we know it, without them.

I can't say the same thing about guns.

Cars and guns are both potentially dangerous if not used in a responsible manner. You wouldn't leave your keys in your car and the doors open and go to bed, would you? You wouldn't hand the keys to a car to someone who had never used one before and tell them "good luck", would you?

I'm just saying common sense needs to be applied to the issue at hand.

You don't know anything about me, buddy boy. And you a coward to hide behind insults in a forum. And you are stuck on the word "allow." Do you think our gym bags are searched? What a moron.

I don't know what is wrong with your logic. An auto is not a self defense weapon. You are indulging in sophistry.

I was responding to the statement that they are both tools. Are you disagreeing that guns and vehicles are both tools?

And what does guns being "a self defense weapon" have to do with knowing how to properly use one before being allowed to own one?
