New to Smoking & New to Growing

Hey man, they sound lile necrotic spots which can be a sign of a pH issue or can also be a sign of a nutrient deficiency like magnesium. Is there anyway you could take a bigger picture? I dunno if my knowledge will be enough to diagnose it though...may need to take it in to your local hydro shop!

Ah its on the cotyledon not the true leaves...i wouldnt worry about it mate unless it turns up on the true leaves. The cotyledons end up dying off anyway as they are what the plant uses for nutrients in the first few weeks. She'll be sweet mate!

And yep there is something called root rot if the roots are constantly wet and don't get the chance to dry out, they can rot or grow fungus. Roots need oxygen as well as water and nutrients, hence why i thought you were over watering the first one. This one's not showing any signs of over watering so it should be sweet. If the leaves start to droop downwards and start yellowing thats a sign of over watering :)

Yea figured so, i just figured it would be further along then the stage she is currently at now
Yeah i dunno why she hasnt grown too much yet mate. I gave mine a small dose of seasol yesterday so will soon know if it didn't need it! Could also try giving the co2 a go too. Cant hurt hey. Cant say ive noticed a big difference with mine but it definitely cant hurt ;)

yea ill probably try the co2 thing soon. i might start another couple of seeds that i got from a friend soon as well. no point waiting for one plant to hopefully grow. ill try having 3 going on at the same time for now
and in a couple of weeks when they are bigger i might get a 400w hps/mh to veg them out.
ive seen some really cheap 400w grow light packages on ebay lately!

Sweet as mate, sounds like you have a plan :) as growman above said, might be better of trying growing in soil this time, its a lot more forgiving than coco hey! Get some decent soil and some perlite to mix through it and they should work a lot easier!

thats a fair call, next batch of seeds ill use some good soil from the local gardening store then. i didnt think coco would be a problem for me, but i guess im just not experienced enough (ie. useless at growing) to be using coco lol

anyways, super baked and busy making lemon cannabutter cake for a bbq im hosting tomorrow ^_^, mowing the lawn, cleaning the house and making sure the dog is keeping out of trouble i decided to make a co2 thingy out of random shit i have in the house

so i used some super lock tight glue, multiple squiggly straws, two airtight containers, some suger yeast and water to make my scrubber, what do you think of my fully awesome set up? :o

what do you think, is it ok? i just followed a quick youtube video and concocted my own haha

i think i may have been a little too generous with the yeast and sugar. its starting to foam up into the straw and the water i have as a filter is already going greyish lol. and i can smell it in my house pretty strong lol

Yeah good call mate, you'll get them growing better with soil, until you feel confident enough to use coco again! Ive seen great results with both but coco can be a bitch as you've experienced :)

Top work on the cake too man, wish i could be there to enjoy it with ya lol

And thats an elaborate set up for co2 lol, nice work :D you'll have to somehow take it out during lights off though as the plants will expell co2 rather than absorb it ;)

it wont be a crazy strong cake but itll be mellow :)
about 6-7 grams of bud in 60ml of melted butter in the mix. should be fun at a bbq ^_~

haha, i figured you made something similar? or was your set up even more basic? :o

Either way man, canna cake is awesome! You're a good host lol

Nah man, my co2 thing is just a coke bottle with a tube coming out the top, yours looks like a work of art lol. Yours looks like it will work better! Mine is more set up for a fish tank

To be honest mate, i would never tell anyone not to use Flowa's method, but unless you really know what you're doing it could all go pear shaped real quickly. Flowa's grow is a work of art, it would be like trying to make a perfect copy of the mona lisa lol. I reckon even i'll have a few issues along the way when i do it! Totally up to you though man, if you set it up properly and watch it like a hawk (i reckon Flowa sleeps in his tent sometimes hahaha) you could get it done :D i wont discourge you if you reckon you can do it!!

Yeah i made mine so that the air gets filtered a little through the water like what happens with a bong :P

The only thing i can see being a problem with flowas grow would be the nutes schedule.
Other then that it kinda looks like just simple maintenance and cleaning of the system.
The feeding is all done on a timer so hopefully no chance of over or under watering if i do it all correctly

In fact i could have one Durban poison in flowa setup and one is a soil bucket :)
So i get to try both at the same time and see what i prefer :)

I agree with mo, there are just to many things hat can go wrong with hydro. and when something does go wrong it goes wrong bad. I would never recommend hydro for a first time grower
